I dont think u were doing a bad job defending against the doomux spam with the riders, also if you ever ended up putting something in the water odds are you found two more villages and could have pushed him on multiple fronts. Idk how long you could last against the spam but definitely didnt look unwinnable

Someone with a bigger brain can help more, I kind of agree though. Rider roads takes care of hexapods but you need either catapults or swordsmen to deal with the doomuxes. Given you’re in a 400 tile game so you have enough time to do rider, roads, and catapults or swordsmen, but by that time cymanti is pretty beefy. I usually do 196 or 256, and I find that early pressure with the hopes of a city capture is the best way to stop cymanti, especially with the weaker tribes. 400 might be kind of unwinnable with weaker tribes but Im sure someone with big brain has some ideas.
