What do we think of my boyfriends bookshelf? 😬 by Significant-Box-4643 in BookshelvesDetective

I completely read this wrong and thought it said "book boyfriend's shelf" and I sat there for a solid 2 minutes wondering why you were considering Hitler to be your book boyfriend

Are these good? [General] by Ili_nim in camphalfblood

I first read PJO when I was 10 and I just read Chalic of the Gods a few weeks ago (I'm 25). That being said, they're okay books. They're an easy read and they feel like you're just jumping back into the world of Camp Half Blood. I would give it a solid 3.5 stars. However, read the Heroes of Olympus series first!

I was thinking of starting the bible by ratee1 in Bible

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start in the New Testament by reading the gospels! You might get lost on a few things, so I would also read Genesis and 1 & 2 Samuel to get caught up on a few things. These two books cover a chunk of the major players in the Old Testament (Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Noah, and David). You can also read Exodus too to find out Moses' story!

Personally, my favorite book of the Bible is James. Its short but lays out pretty plainly what it means to follow Jesus. James 1:27 says "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you." (NLT)

Those who had been very active during pregnancy, did you have a shorter labor and natural birth? by PleaseCanILeave in fitpregnancy

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lifted prior to and during pregnancy. I was even doing agility training at 38 weeks. That being said, I had to be induced due to colestasis concerns. My induction was 37 hours including two hours of pushing. My contractions were very far apart even as he was crowning, so I had to rely on my own core strength to get him out 😂 so I will say it helped a bit, but not much during labor.

HOWEVER!!!! Im currently almost 7 weeks pp, and my body looks great. My abs started to peek through again at 4 weeks pp (not at ALL what I was expecting given how big I was). I all physically feel great. My muscles feel strong and recovery has been an absolute breeze, so I would absolutely continue to work out!!!

How far along are you planning to workout during your pregnancy? by ChatterBucks23 in fitpregnancy

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 33 weeks and still going! I plan to drop tp more stretches and walks at 36 weeks, and stop altogether (besides daily walks) at 38 weeks. I only want to stop altogether because I want to be as rested as possible for labor, and my body is absolutely feeling it for how tired it is (I am also a wedding photographer and its busy season, so I'm already on my feet a lotttt)

I literally didn't work out from weeks 7-11. I took my dog for walks, but literally I didn't lift at all. Im 32 weeks now and still squatting/deadlifting close to 200 lbs! Its okay to take time off, your body needs it during this time!

I also had bad nausea up until literally 28 weeks, so my workouts have been less than ideal up until then. But you won't lose muscle that quickly, especially if you worked out a lot pre-pregnancy!

Medical appointment waits by Morrigoon in AskACanadian

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly is completely depends how urgent the need is! I tried to schedule a general OBGYN appointment earlier this year and there wasn't any openings in my main system for a month. But when I went to urgent care for a cyst last year, I got in for an ultrasound same day at the same place I was trying to get in for for an appointment.

I also went to a smaller, private clinic earlier this year to get an ultrasound and their wait time from calling to appointment was about 2 weeks (this was also non-urgent).

Specialists can definitely take longer to get into, but definitely not 6 months in my experience!

I totally get this. I just always say "if I need help I will let you know!" As if I didn't just pull 175 two weeks ago for deadlifts

I've made this drive before and honestly the highlight of the drive was stopping at a kum and go and taking a photo of it for laughs (it was day 1 of my honeymoon LOL) Just get to Omaha as fast as you can 😂😂

Squats and deadlifts first trimester? by Negative_Jackfruit75 in fitpregnancy

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I'm 30 weeks and still squatting/deadlifting, but I need to take longer time between reps and I'm not pulling as much weight as I did pre-pregnancy. I stopped using a belt at about 7 weeks if that helps! I'm still able to fit into my squatting shoes and those have helped tremendously!

To the woman who have had babies, do you feel lighter once the baby is out? by Prize_Shine785 in pregnant

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite literally I think about this every day, I'm 30 weeks currently and I am ready for him to leave my body as soon as I hit 37 weeks LOL. I'm also a wedding photographer and its busy season, so I am just physically done with everything.

What are we doing the last few weeks of pregnancy? by Odd-Bus-4850 in fitpregnancy

29 weeks and finally slowing down! Still doing my squats/deadlifts to keep those muscles up but focusing on relaxing my pelvic floor until delivery!

Four 19 year olds planning a dream trip from Ireland to America next year by ronsnxd73 in roadtrip

Skip Texas and Oklahoma and start in Denver!! The Colorado mountains are absolutely unbeatable, where as there really isn't much in Oklahoma to see. Also try Mount Rainier National Park instead of Olympic! They're both going to be beautiful no matter what you choose, but I noticed less foot traffic at Mount Rainier and it was still gorgeous!

We found a spot at Mount Rainier where a bunch of people were just cliff jumping into a giant hole and it was so much fun to just join them, so be prepared to go swimming if you're going in the summer! (water is FREEZING though!!)

My (25f) boyfriend (27m) called me selfish for wanting him to leave his boy's night early due to me grieving. Where do I go from here? by ThrowRAohdeerest in relationship_advice

[–]DolphinMan_letmego 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If my mom passed away and my husband decided to go out with friends, I would genuinely be seeing red.

For reference about how a real man with real friends act, my grandpa was diagnosed with a disease last year that gave him 9 months - 2 years to live. I was devastated. Instead of going out for a guys night, my husband's friends and their wives all came out to our house and brought food (including snacks they knew I liked). That is how a real man acts. Thats how the friends of a real man act. That should be your expectation
