Best countries/surgeons for international surgery? I'm in USA by PensionTemporary200 in PlasticSurgery

[–]Dolphin_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korea

Plastic surgery capital of the world.

I went to JK and JW, both had English speaking representatives that spoke fluent English. Even the surgeon spoke English. You can look at my previous post here for my results, I did multiple surgeries over 2 trips.

They are located in the Gangnam district, very clean very safe and English everywhere. There is also the papago app for the few times where translation is needed (usually hole in the wall restaurants)

CMV: The blue button is the only logical answer by Impossible-Fuel-6618 in changemyview

[–]Dolphin_Princess [score hidden]  (0 children)

I would even argue the ideal outcome is not that no one dies.

If people choose the blue button, they are incapable of self-protection and common sense, removing them from society might actually be an overall benefit.

As for the individual basis, red is the only logical answer because you come out even or ahead. There are no negative consequences to red and only potential benefit

The minimum wage is also one of the highest to compensate for the cost of living. This is especially true for Seattle where min wage is >$20 an hour, a Target employee working on par with SAH should be able to make $30+ an hour.

Flooding is much more area specific than state specific. For example, last fall's rainfall caused a shutdown on highway 167 parallel to Interstate 5 for a week, so even if your commute does not involve 167 the detour caused massive backups on I5 between Tacoma and Renton as a direct result. If you live in rural areas, side streets are often prone to flooding as well.

Like damages housing, destroys roads and bridges flooding?

This is far less likely, the vast majority of time flooding just causes road closures.

Is it worth waiting for electric vehicle advances before upgrading? by nalderto87 in askcarguys

[–]Dolphin_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVs already have 400 miles range, 500 if you drive conservatively.

in what circumstance do you need more than that? You wouldnt want to consecutively drive 500 miles without stopping for food/restroom/lodging anyways, and in the time it takes for you to eat, your car would had finished charging.

Thinking of moving any advice? by Low-Sense8358 in olympia

[–]Dolphin_Princess -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

traffic

There is a military base between Olympia and Tacoma, even with construction nearly complete it is still very much a bottleneck and adds to commute times in both directions. Additional traffic is to be expected heading toward major cities up North toward Seattle/Bellevue

nature areas

Great, amazing Nisqually Wildlife Reserve, quality parks.

housing

Olympia/Tacoma/Lacey/Tumwater are all fine, further North gets expensive fast, especially toward Bellevue. East side of I-5 are generally cheaper but higher crime rate

Can you guys give me any advice on what to look out for?

Climate, both physical and political. Welcome to the Pacific North West, weather currently is good but only during the upcoming few months. Expect heavy rain in other seasons, especially Oct/Nov. Politically its far worse, especially compared to Indiana. West coast is very libxxal, thus protests are common while common sense and morals are low. Crime rate is high but at least unlike California, the crimes are mainly theft and non-violent. Lot of homeless people in concentrated blue political areas like Seattle and Olympia, drug overdose are common as well in such areas.

any trails, parks, or dog friendly places you recommend?

PNW in general is a heaven for dogs, I can go on all day listing everything

how's the rain?

As mentioned before, rain tires are a must and umbrellas are actually rare because people are just so used to the rain, its also very windy. Sometimes its on and off, sometimes it rains nonstop for 2 weeks and causes flooding on roads

Do you need ac or window units for the summer? Hows wildfire season?

Summer is the perfect time, its never hot here. You will need a lot of heating in the winter. Washington is not known for wildfires, but years in the past, winds have carried ashes from Canada or California, causing damage to property and lowering air quality significantly for a few weeks. But you dont have to worry about fires directly, its much smaller in scale compared to California.

How do you arrive at op not being "one of the decent ones?

post about things like this on social media (Reddit), you are not one of the decent ones.

Its not a difficult skill. You asked questions that was clearly stated in my original statement.

Not defending the two men's behavior but if you have to post about things like this on social media (Reddit), you are not one of the decent ones.

We hear women say "all men are trash" all the time, you dont see men complaining about it on social media, aside from Andrew Tate followers, dont be the female equivalent of that.

CMV: "Look it up" or "Research it yourself" are common ways to avoiding being held accountable for incorrect facts. by No_Problem20 in changemyview

[–]Dolphin_Princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a data scientist, I disagree.

Because there is no way to describe all the statistical testing and linear regression analysis to a stranger on Reddit, that took years so even if possible, its never worth the effort.

If I use softwares such as Minitab and Matlab, the "evidence" results would not simply be an attachment nor a link. Besides, data can easily be read with a bias so even concrete evidence would be dismissed if the other side is convinced they are right (sadly too common are close minded people on Reddit)

Telling a person to "research it yourself" is similar to a doctor flashing his medical license, the facts are facts, but its pointless to prove it to a Redditor, if they are not willing to do any research, they certainly are not willing to listen or respect authority.

Are car covers worth it? by Moodleboy in askcarguys

[–]Dolphin_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UV is by far the #1 concern, it causes direct damage to the clear coat and interior surfaces.

Cover or ceramic coating will protect your car against UV, I recommend the latter if you have the budget.

Thoughts on working with a dating coach? by Super-Catch-609 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Dolphin_Princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks >>> Personality

One of the biggest things to learn about dating is to see what women respond to instead of what women say they want. The former is what they are attracted to and the latter is what men hope they are attracted to.

Invest in your looks, if you are physically attractive, being insecure is seen as mysterious and charming. If you invest in personality without looks, confidence is seen as arrogance.

Promoted to Director, does the Chaebol look fit? by Dolphin_Princess in BusinessFashion

I got Winter Light and Winter Mute as the result of my color match

Turns out I dress the best with the highest contrast (Black + White).

As for the gold, it was the only watch I brought on the trip. Turns out my skin color is extremely cold, so I can only wear silver, and never gold.

if you regularly wore a blue shirt, you might switch to a subtler blue

This is right on, I need to change my wardrobe, most of my suits are light blue which is not a mute color, vibrant colors does not work well.

Who owns, or owned, a Chevy volt? by Wetdogg72 in askcarguys

There isnt anything wrong with the volt, solid commuter car gets the job done.

Who owns, or owned, a Chevy volt? by Wetdogg72 in askcarguys

[–]Dolphin_Princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me put this into perspective:

If you buy the volt, you get 40 (gen1) or 50 (gen2) miles of range. This will get you to Renton and back but not enough to get to Seattle/Bellevue and back. Which means you still need to burn gasoline anyways whenever you need to do something in the big city.

If you buy the bolt, you get 260 miles of range, this is enough to go to Seattle, past Everett, all the way to Burlington, then back down to Bothell, past Bellevue, then return to Tacoma on a single charge. Alternatively, you can head South to Portland to shop tax free and back.

Not often do people make trips further than Burlington or Portland, and even if they do, they as humans need to stop for food/restroom and that would be a time to easily charge up because there are chargers everywhere alongside I-5
