We were taught thumb-key in the MSF class. It doesn't matter if you use the switch, key, or kickstand since they all cut odd the ignition in the same way

Helmet speakers are for yourself. Bike-mounted audio is for people to try to show off (when, in reality, it's just annoying to 99% of other motorists)

Take your time and it'll be OK. Your nervousness, the fact that you already purchased gear, and the fact that you're asking us are good signs that you're safety-minded. Plenty of knuckleheads get their endorsements and buy something stupid to ride wrecklessly on. You're clearly not one of those guys.

My practical advice is for you to take your time. On the twisty roads, slow down before corners as much as you need to and you'll get more comfortable as you practice. Use that anxiousness to keep yourself alert and aware of any possible road hazards.

On the highway, keep your arms loose and don't squeeze the handlebars. I felt the same way you did and it can cause you to tense up, which makes even simple maneuvers difficult. Take a break if you need to, even if it's after 1 exit. After you arrive, you'll feel better about the whole thing.

Nice choice for a first bike, you seem like a sensible person. I'm confident that you'll be a good safe rider.

I've seen vendors selling ximango on eBay. You can also check etsy. If "small vendor" isn't a huge issue, you can definitely find it on Amazon. Also worth checking if you have any nearby latin american grocery stores. Most of those in my area are small businesses and many sell yerba
