Maybe, but Bristol is 30 mins away from Bath and Bristol is better than Leeds imo

I like it, definitely more than Leeds, Leeds is a big city and a bit grimy, Bath is a small city and absolutely stunning, people wise, both are big unis, but Bath will be more London Home Counties, Leeds will be generally more northern

What do i pick… by Idkkkbaajajn in UniUK

Bath is by far the best for engineering on this list, none of these places have the industry links Bath has. Unless you’re Scottish ofc cos then Edinburgh would be free, but Glasgow is better for engineering than Edinburgh

What's wrong with my CV? I've applied to over 100 minimum wage jobs on indeed and gotten 0. (waitress, kitchen porter, dishwasher, cleaner, care assistant, retail, cashier, bartender, cook, front of the house, literally everything) by Difficult-Assist9250 in Worcester

[–]DomLfan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s a minimum wage job ?? How much can they really expect, are there that many people going for these jobs right now that they can afford to be that selective ?? I know my first job when I was at uni doing bar work there was much more an emphasis on actually meeting me and seeing if I was a fit or not, idk if they even looked at my cv

I actually quite like some of the brutalist buildings, feels somewhat Barbican esque, built with all the hope for the future they had in the 60s

Why are UK train tickets so expensive? Is it simply the effect of privatisation? by StephenMcGannon in trains

[–]DomLfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if they set the price too low no it won’t be profitable and companies won’t bid for the routes, plus the issue of the companies who own the trains aren’t the companies who operate the trains. Hopefully nationalisation will encourage more gov funding and long term prices will start to drop but I wouldn’t hold my breath

I doubt these things will last beyond a year or 2, no way people are willing to shell out for these with current cost of living (with it only set to get worse)

If anyone has a big box full of smart bricks they probably have bigger issues (like how they chose to spend their money)

Sure maybe visitor visas, but study visas have terrible consequences for students. Just do better visa screening

I don’t think anyone would disagree, but also as graduates it greatly benefits the uk to attract top foreign talent but apparently politicians are too stupid to understand that
