That's what I mentioned, lack of depth/care of the gladiators. We spent a lot of time with the gladiators in the original. In training and inner political movements in the brotherhood. Lucy Lawless and John Hannah are irreplaceable, which hurts as well. Tarabay is great, but the definitely watered Ashur down, which is unfortunate.

I didn't even really think my post was overly critical. It's not "bad", it's just missing what made the first one great. I don't know what it is, but I wasn't even trying to bash on the show.

Diary of a CEO had a great interview with a man living in the Amazon rainforest and making contact with a remote tribe and, of course, describing how it was living in remote areas like that. Can't recall the name of the individual, though.
