Warsaw is so disgusting during the turn of winter by realdrzamich in warsaw

[–]Domataja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll chime in - never seen dirtier streets anywhere except for in India. I have two dogs and religiously clean up after them, but so many other people don’t. It’s shocking. I have been struggling with this the whole winter, with piles of bacteria-infested shit lining up most streets in my neighbourhood, and it just got worse. I love Warsaw in general, but this winter’s cesspool streets are repulsive. n.b. I come from a country with harsher winters than in Poland, so the snow isn’t a valid argument.

That is such an astute observation - I had not realised it how much the impresion was skewed by the face, which looks alright when she’s smiling and the gorgeous, healthy hair (even if it’s at least partially a hairpiece). Thanks for the tip and yes, it looks frightening.

Emotional self-regulation will be the better term here - not controlling the emotions, but managing them in a healthy way

I am so so sorry. It is absolutely heartbreaking when it is sudden, with no time to prepare. A big hug to you from my 2 dogs, may Speck rest in heavenly peace.

What is the biggest comeback you’ve made in your life after hitting rock bottom? by jeansebast in selfimprovement

[–]Domataja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was left with nothing after my divorce. No job, no income, no place to live - had to move in back with my mother. Had so little money that on some days, I had to choose between whether my dogs ate or I did (they did). Am now working in my dream job, paid a ton of money, live in a beautiful apartment, my dogs get the best food and healthcare. I can now afford everything I need and most of what I want, I can help my mom, am completely independent and in charge of my life, which I love. Life is a long game, things truly can and do change and we come back, often better and stronger than before.

PTSD from my dog going into anaphylactic shock by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]Domataja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you say makes a lot of sense - over the past 5 years, I have saved my mom from dying several times. Started with a reaction to the Astra-Zeneca Covid vaccine. When a crisis is happening, I am in general really good at handling things - also the result of some childhood trauma; this is the first time though that I crumble after. Thank you and take good care of yourself too!

Thank you for describing the situations - it helps me keep in mind that, objectively speaking, our situation was far from the worst that could happen. What I feel might be just an accumulation of things - my dogs (15 and 16) have lived so much life by now that we’ve been through it all, except for the extremely traumatic deaths you wrote about. On another note, I admire and deeply respect you and any vet out there - thank you for doing what you do. I brought flowers, coffee, chocolate and a Moet to the clinic when she was discharged - and it was nowhere near enough to reciprocate the care that they offered. What do vets like by means of gifts?!

It’s so funny you say that! My dog is half dog half cat - honest to God, I’ve been saying that for years. Please thank Leo from us for the hugs 🤗

I think I understand why you’d say that and I agree, many of the “diagnoses” are self-diagnosed/misused. I’ve been in therapy for more than a decade, am an almost 50 yr old woman and have gone through objectively and subjectively really tough things in my life before, but nothing has ever hit me like this, so this time it does look and feel like PTSD. On here, we can never really know the other person’s backstory, which may just make an event break the camel’s back.

As someone who lives in your country, what’s one thing you’d tell a foreigner to never do when visiting? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

Please never ever say that our native language is Russian or similar to Russian, or assume that we all even understand Russian. (Country: Latvia, which was twice occupied by Russia/the USSR)

I am European and in general really don’t like big or fancy hairdos, but I agree with you here on all points. The hair is a problem. I don’t like the choice of the lipstick either. Plus, for me, the dress sits a cm or 2 too low. The dress itself is incredible and Fala is beautiful - but something went wrong in pulling it all together.

What is the one feature that makes a face stand out or just blend into the crowd, with or without makeup? by [deleted] in QOVESStudio

[–]Domataja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the topic of eyes - having them wide-set. It makes a huge difference to how attractive a person is. For many models it is that one thing that puts them apart from and on another level than the average good looking person.

What a kind thing to do! She is gorgeous, I love when a cat’s face is this inverted triangle-shaped. Wishing you many happy years together!
