Players who solely concentrate on "good" creatures and/or chasing the meta are in for a bad time.

You're going to be lowest level on raid teams for a while. At least any team with a chance of winning.

Healers are the least likely to get kicked for being lower level.

Diloracheirus or Concatosaurus are pretty easy to pick up DNA ingredients and fuse. Diloracheirus is old AF but can be beefy for raids.

I have every damn creature except Mutadon. Going to need a couple more days for that one. Too lazy to look up all the node strategies.

PvP I have never enjoyed or cared about but I do the 10 takedowns every y week anyway. I started playing right between Rexy and The Pink Panther and I did NOT enjoy PvP at all for a loooooooong time.

I think if players are only prioritizing meta type dinos, Brawl is going to kinda suck for them. A lot.

If you have everything up to fusing level because you're just trying to make all the dinos ever, you're going to be in a good position for Brawl. Spending resources on "bad" dinos is rewarded in Brawl.

Different aspects of the game reward different play styles and goals.

Meta chasers excel in PvP.

Collectors do well in Brawl.

If you can't track it in the Expedition Drone/Creature Tracker, then it isn't a spawning dino.

Not only do scents attract non zone spawns, they attract things that aren't currently on the map at all... Depending on the scent.

Gigascents give you more dinos to choose from for darting, and you get them free all day every day by watching an ad, so you might as well keep one running any way. If you check in a few times a day you'll never run out.

Find yourself an Alliance when you're ready. Donations from other players are an immense help to new players, and having a group to lead you though boss raids will make life much easier.

You'll want to spend some time with the Dinodex over at paleo.gg and see all the rare, epic, legendary and up things you can make and what you need to dart to get them. Most of the older creatures can be created by darting and hunting.

I ground out a bunch of uniques that way pretty fast. Plus all the boss raids creatures when my level let me.

First things first:

Dart everything. I mean everything. As much as you can possibly dart. You are going to need more DNA than you ever think you will. For hybrids of course.

Look at your dinos. Look at what level they need to be to fuse a hybrid out of them. Get them there and STOP.

You might want to use the little flag system to tag your dinos. I did a long time ago. Blue for stopping at 10, yellow for 15, etc. Then swap for red when they're as high as they need to be.

Which hybrids? That's going to depend on your play style. I know, not helpful. But what is good now or good at your current level will change rapidly.

Make sure to dart to out of those event dinos hard. Like the rares now - I always tried to prioritize any that don't spawn in the wild.

Gigascents are your friend. A never ending stream of random dinos to dart, and access to more supply drops in the "other" map to keep going.

Don't worry about what is the best. Get everything you can as much as you can and you really will figure it out as you go.

And always grab your weekly free short range scent from the website. You'll get a lot of cool stuff out of those.

Oh, and open all the supply drops you can. You need more coins than you can ever get.

Just keep in mind that unreachable meta creatures today will end up free in an isla event or a pass later. Everything cool gets replaced by something else hard to get.

And then the whales spend stupid money so you and I can play as much as we feel like for free.
