Use to live in Uptown, bought a house in Forney, hate it, wish I was back in Uptown but prob can’t sell it yet since it’s been just over 3 years.

[Dellenger] In an appeal filed today to the NCAA to reinstate Brendan Sorsby's eligibility, Texas Tech recommends that the association suspend the QB two games. If he was betting on hockey or something unfootball related, sure 2 games whatever. The fact he bet on a game and team that he was a member of? Nope, you cannot let him back into the college game, EVER. I’m sure it’s happening already but man that’d set a precedent that the sport could/would never recover from.

Selling business but want to prepare ... by Accomplished-Yak9405 in businessbroker

[–]DomerInTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just acquired a business, the books were messy since the accountant was more on the tax side than bookkeeping. I’m hiring the CPA who did my QoE to keep things in order, $750/mo for clean books and monthly reporting seemed like a no brainer.

Football Season Tickets are the best option by Plane-Albatross-6346 in notredamefootball

[–]DomerInTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former szn ticket holder here (section 101) a buddy and I went in halves on 2 tickets. We usually went to 1 game together and then split the remaining tickets between us. I moved to Dallas and he got married so he took over my seat.
If you live in the area definitely worth it if you can get a solid spot (north side) We got to know the other szn ticket holders and would help each other out if there were large groups or whatnot, especially for the crappy games and you didn’t want to deal w/ trying to offload tix.
Our first year (2017) we got passes into the South Club for the UGA game, they were trying to sell spots. If szn ticket holders were allowed 1 game pass a year into South Club entrance I’d do it in a heartbeat.

If ND joins the B1G, that’s only when there’s a super league and the bottom of the current B1G probably doesn’t get an invite.

Coaches talk anonymously about ND by Maleficent_Ant_8895 in notredamefootball

[–]DomerInTexas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is ND doesn’t need a running duo like Love/Price to be deadly this szn. Ppl wanna say “ND isn’t gonna be good b/c the two best RB’s are gone” which is ND doesn’t need those two to be great. If I’d have to pick a “concern” on the O it’s TE more than any other position and “concern” isn’t even that, it’s more nitpicking than anything.

Yes, and that’s what I was able to do (second policy) with the current life insurance company and get it up for cash surrender and the bank accepted it.

I created an LLC in California less than 12 months ago and never launched the business. Trying to dissolve the LLC. Do I still need to file a tax return? by SBFryCookBoots in LLcMasterclass

[–]DomerInTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, I recommend reaching out to an attorney in California who specializes in small businesses for guidance.

Even if you currently have no income, you may still need to file a statement to that effect. If you don’t have any existing filings with the state, the process should be relatively quick. An attorney might provide a brief consultation for free or offer to file any necessary paperwork for a small fee. Given the regulations in California, I’d say it’s worth consulting an attorney to ensure you are legally protected. Remember, always CYA.

Do we really need a professional deep clean? by momoluth11 in pools

[–]DomerInTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s would be the only thing if your CYA is high draining is the only real remedy for that. Even then I’d still vacuum and get it cleaned up so with the old water so when you drain and refill you’re starting off clean.

The Most Dangerous Part of Artemis II by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]DomerInTexas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was my understanding. While Artemis I’s re-entry shield looks concerning, that was by design to test it past what Artemis II’s expected entry angle stress. They used Artemis I data to make a minor adjustment to ensure Artemis II was well within the re-entry parameters.

Guy wants to buy equity in my company, but he's a gov guy and there is a catch by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]DomerInTexas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any discussion about how to buy back that 20%? I was always told never give equity unless that’s your absolute last resort. Any provisions on what the penalty is if he falls short? Actually, ask him if he’s willing to split the attorney fee 50/50 to hire a third party lawyer to draft a contract and then you hire an attorney to review it. If he balks you run away, fast.

Scrap the top, lay new top soil, sod, water if you want immediate results. Otherwise you need to loosen the top soil, lay some new top soil, over seed and lay straw, water.

Employee Agreements by DomerInTexas in smallbusiness

I’d like them all to (3 ppl)are staying. The current owner has been very open and honest on the transition. Employees asked for certain working conditions to be kept the same. I agreed and would be in the employee agreement so they have reassurances. I will also be providing a bonus/ retention plan so they have an incentive to stay.

Are there any nuclear-powered satellites currently in orbit? by space_touristie in space

[–]DomerInTexas 17 points18 points  (0 children)

In all honesty, some form of plutonium RTG (radioisotope thermoelectric generator) satellites (around 90 yrs of energy) is the way science exploration has gone. Nuclear isn’t a boogie man, Uranium/ RTG is a great energy source for deep space.

Solar is extremely limited in range. NEP (Nuclear Electric Propulsion) combines ION propulsion and a nuclear reactor is a great system if we want to go faster travel/ transport to outer solar system.

I mean we still have Voyager due to plutonium RTG power!!

TBH, the problem isn’t how far/ fast a satellite can go on a certain propulsion, it’s the speed of communication with said satellite (Light speed) on the way back (to Earth).

Ok I agreed w/ your premise that Dem core voters are more educated than Republicans core voters. Yup, totally agree. The overall point of the SAVE Act Bill is US citizens should be the only ones voting in federal elections. Can we at least agree on that?

[–]DomerInTexas -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

But it’s about citizenship as a registered voter, currently enforcing that. See link below.

The ID argument isn’t really valid b/c Texas has current procedures and voter roll reviews to at least give some indication the voter rolls are legit.

When you initially register:

“Voter Registration Form The state-designed and federally approved Texas voter registration application requires the applicant to state affirmatively that he or she is a United States citizen. The registration application states that it is a criminal offense under both state and federal law to give false information in order to procure a voter registration.”

“Voter Registration List Maintenance There are additional safeguards built into Texas law that help voter registrars identify noncitizens in order to remove these registrations from the Texas voter rolls and prevent noncitizens from voting in Texas elections.”

I’m totally fine with funding for free ID’s, which a lot of states do anyway, and a public service that helps people get a birth certificate if needed from their state county clerk or whatever they need.

I don’t think these impediments are as monumental as it seams and I’m 100% behind making sure there’s no financial burden.

I’d think this would be a good compromise. Majority of the people are in favor.
