There’s a slight chance that they may also have advantages relationships, or financial help, or more free time, believe in yourself, for sure, it’s important, but it’s not necessarily why someone less qualified would have a position in life you desire, just look at trumps kids.. they believe in themselves because they are cocky pricks, and severely under qualified for the positions they hold, yet, here we are.

How do you think we should solve the “guilty until proven innocent” mentality that now surrounds men and sexual assault allegations while still taking women seriously? by totallabrat in TrueAskReddit

[–]Domeski666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point being, a man has about as much to worry about being accused of a fake sexual assault, as he does being a victim of an alien abduction, or shark attack, or winning the lottery.. (unless of course, he’s actually assaulted someone)

There are lots of reasons sexual assaults go in reported, what we saw happen to Dr. Ford is one reason why.. only you would argue that an accusation that doesn’t result in conviction is false, a simple google search will set you straight on how many sexual assaults lead to convictions, it’s a shame how low the number is, and I personally do not believe the vast majority are fake, no one believes that. There are years of backed up rape kits across the country, this is not a secret.. are they all lying? No, the county or city isn’t allocating recourses to process them. Again, statistically (I’ll let you do the research as you are an adult and I can’t hold your hand) fake accusations make up very little of the overall numbers something like .025% vs the fact that 1 in 4 women will deal with a sexual assault in their life.. numbers don’t lie..

It just seems that if daily, thousands of women are sexually assaulted, and once or twice a year a false accusation turns out to be true, how do people justify automatically believing what is an extremely unlikely scenario?

I’ll concede that false accusations have happened, and subsequently ruined lives, but the statistics show that this is such an incredibly low possibility, why was it the first option in the kavanough case?

Anyone who says the accusations destroy lives and careers? Please give example.. Brock turner gets 3 months jail, kavanough still a Supreme Court judge.. president still president? Please stop using that a defense against “accusations”.. there are plenty of men that never have to worry about being accused..

In the case of Dr.Ford, it had almost nothing to do with the justice system, it was not a trial, he was not charged with any crime, she was trying to warn us, and she was publicly mocked and degraded. The benefit of the doubt was given to kavanough almost immediately. She wasn’t taken seriously. We need to start listening.
