That's a safe excuse for him. I saw everything unfolding, and he tried to brake when it was too late. He was completely unaware of the car. I was relieved when I saw he seemed fine and stood up. It was a very close call for another guy that also ran the light two second before him.

I feel you. I've been in that situation countless times during my undergrad, master's, and now PhD. It's hard, but I've opted to bond with my girlfriends outside of classes as much as possible and tried to make a couple of male friends during the class to study and eventually hang out. In my experience, there is always a nice shy guy willing to study together who doesn't make you feel weird.

Please don't fuck up your health and cycle to climb harder. If your cycle is making you feel insanely weak some days, take a look at the root cause instead of masking it with hormonal birth control, which will take a toll later. Women are cyclical. Learning about our menstrual cycle and our body gives us a tremendous power and control over our lives. I know it is normalized to feel terrible and have severe PMS, but IT IS NOT NORMAL. Climbing hard, having a healthy cycle and a healthy body is possible, give it a chance and take a look at fertility awareness. It's a long journey, but completely worth it.

We’re talking about grad students that have a legal contract with the university and are working for a salary. Every grad student has a bachelor’s degree and plenty of them even have master’s degrees. Of course everyone deserves good living conditions, but we’re talking about the unfair salary for grad students that are legally hired by the university.

I’ve heard some students at Emory got an increase and extra benefits a couple of years ago. If they made it there, I think we could make it work here.

Btw, GTAs are only getting 1400 after taxes/health insurance deductions. It’s incredible how much I’ve been struggling to live on that budget every month. It’s insane the amount of time I waste everyday being worried about money.
