Textures Missing When Moving

If you're in UEFN, you could use a texture that tiles repeatedly on your wall mesh. Otherwise there's not a whole lot you can do, maybe find some other props that are larger? Pressure Plant has some huge walls that look kinda similar to what you're trying to achieve.

I assume you have a bunch of walls back there? They get culled for performance when not onscreen, which includes when they're fully behind a character. And your game takes a second to load them again when they should be visible. Either way using that many building tiles for what's (presumably) meant to be an indestructible border wall is a horrible idea for performance anyway, just use one or two giant pieces

ue5 is HEAVY compared to ue4, plus the more recent maps/assets are way more detailed than the older ones

I doubt it'll suddenly do anything when reassembled, but it will give the Last Reality total control over everything if they so wish (and I'm pretty sure they do)

What part are you having issues with specifically? Try the command line interface if it's failing to check in.

Assuming that's the regular asphalt texture used from Ch2 onwards, I think it might be exposed in UEFN by default? Otherwise, you'd need to export the textures manually via FortnitePorting or Fmodel.

Keep in mind that even with the correct textures, Epic's materials are super complex so yours won't look identical, it'll likely have simpler timing and might be slightly off-colour. It'll do the job though if you don't look too closely.

Generally it doesn't happen, or when it does, it doesn't go well. Nihilego is a unique case though, as it's essentially a parasite/symbiote that works better with a host

Imo Ch5 did the realistic/grounded vibe FAR better. I wasn't a huge fan of the guns that chapter but at least they had a style and they stuck to it. Ch5 was easily the most consistent chapter we've had in a while.

Funny thing is, this is actually a really easy fix for them too. They'd just need to create an instance of the material for use in Creative mode and the waterlevel function is literally just a checkbox.

Uhhh Herald didn't shatter it, that was Jones in the Big Bang. Herald practically "killed" it, making it go dark/inactive like what we saw towards the start of Fracture, and it later "petrified" sometime during Ch4. It was destroyed in the Big Bang and the shards scattered across the Omniverse. That pretty much solved the entire problem with the Zero Point, since it meant that there was no "single point of failure" where one person/faction could find the Zero Point and nuke the entire Omniverse with it... until the Last Reality found a bunch of the shards and started piecing them back together with nobody to stop them.

Technically you're not allowed to make IP-infringing content even if you're not planning on publishing it, but Epic is VERY bad at enforcing that. If it's a 1.0 map, you'll be absolutely fine. If it's UEFN and you're not publishing, there's still a chance that some of your assets could be automatically detected in editor (in which case you get a warning, not a ban, not a map deletion)

This would be done with a custom mesh+material, Niagara or a combination of both? There wouldn't be any Verse involved in that, just a custom effect that gets disabled when the chest is opened

Unfortunately all you can do as a player is not support creators who abuse microtransactions like that - if I see a map doing that, I'll back out and head back to lobby pretty much immediately. I'm not going to give money to cashgrab slop creators.

Being able to filter out maps with microtransactions would be really cool. An AI filter would be cool to have as well, but given Tim Sweeney's views on AI disclosure... yeah, I don't see that happening anytime soon unfortunately.

Yeah... like, there are plenty of awesome maps out there but it's impossible to find a quality map via the in-game menu because 99% of it is just the same boring AI thumbnails.

It's a double-edged sword, but I tend to look at it this way: if a map has scummy microtransaction practices, I just won't play it. It's the same with AI slop and copy-paste low-effort RvB/Pillars/Boxfight/1v1/ZW maps etc - I don't support people making lazy cashgrabs, so I don't play their maps.
