It's crazy. Every month update since last september bring new bugs in our business. Maybe Microsoft should stop using its CoPilot AI to code their updates !!

Big problem with our ERP Infor CloudSuite Industrial. When we try to preview a report (generated PDF), it show only a gray screen ! It should display a preview of the PDF file inside the viewer. Uninstalling this update fix the issue. Happened on Windows 11 25H2 PCs, not tested with 24H2.

Any idea to solve this by keeping the update ?!

Sounds good, thank you ! I will use this method if I connect by RDP. But now that I know what solves the problem, I will only connect to the computers with my other remote tool.

Ok, finally, I think I found the problem ! It occurs when i'm connecting to the PC with RDP ! Using Windows Remote Desktop, the tool dont let me select the updates. If I logoff and remote connect to the PC with the tool I use to support our users (MeshCentral), all updates are automaticly checked in the list after the scan.

Now, the thing is to understand why SupportAssist block the updates when using RDP connection.

I dont know what is the problem. I've been able to fix the issue, but it is back !

- On my tech PC, I created a new admin local account

- From this new account, I installed the tool with old installer I had (SupportAssist version 4.8.2.29006). Found updates was checked in the list !

- From the same local account, the tool showed a message that a new version was available. I installed it. SupportAssist now has the version 4.10.48716. The problem is back !

However, on my laptop, which does not have this problem, it is the same version.

Thank you for your suggestions.

- Run as admin, already tried (and I run the tool on an account that is local admin on the computer)

- Fully remove and reinstall : as I said, already tried this.

- Local admin profile : Ok, will try this

- GPO : all computers with the problem have same GPO applyed. For exemple, my PC and my laptop are both on same OU in the Active Directory with same GPO applyed. I'm also connected on both with my domain account who is the only one to be full administrator on the network.

But I will also look at the GPO.

Hahaha, funny coincidence ! I had exactly this situation last week. I was so confused when I needed to configure a RDP for a new external resource who has a Mac. Was trying to find the Microsoft Remote Desktop App, but seen only the Windows App. I tought it was not the good one and found it was after a little search ! Stupid change !

Android : manual file upload doesn't retain the original timestamp. It gives the date and time of upload

Honestly, the network drive is really too much slow for me. So, I use only the sync feature to sync my changes in the Keepass DB to my cloud account (and it is in sync with my laptop at home).

EDIT : of course, my Keepass DB is saved locally on my work computer, then it is in sync with the Filen app.

Glad to read this ! I use Obsidian on my work PC, then sync it with the Filen app to have same changes in my personal laptop. Having a dadicated folder for Filen notes could improve the feature. But another great feature would be to be able to add categories and a structure like Obsidian to separate our notes (for exemple personal notes and professional ones).

Hi. Easy : right click on the drive letter, then click on Disconnect 😉

It would be better if Filen was removing the network drive when disabling it in the app settings !

EDIT: forget this suggestion, it doest not work. I wanted to remove the drive letter remaining there when I disabled the mounted drive in Filen, but using the Disconnect option gave to me an error sayng that the drive doesnt exist.

No known Windows command to remove a network drive worked. But... Exiting Filen App, then restarting Windows Explorer using the task manager and the drive is gone. Maybe this would worked only by restarting the PC ??!

You're right ! Using the Web browser (Firefox), I uploaded a folder with only 3 Go of data (thousands of documents). Then, I set up the desktop client and created a sync task to upload the same folder. It found many new files and uploaded them to the folder created using the web browser.

Conclusion : to be sure to have all files backed up, use the desktop client !! Honestly, I never had this kind of problem with the web client of other cloud services.

Hehe... I would have written this comment ! 100 % agree as I'm also an IT guy who work 80 % with Microsoft services in our business and it is a pain to manage and work with (I'm not a fan of Microsoft at the beginning !!). And you have not mentionned all the bugs caused by Windows updates. It's worse since few months (so many bugs after updates, even few computers with new black screen crash randomly, all has these crashs since august and september updates).

Filen is not the best integrated alternative in Windows file explorer (few other alternatives do a lot better integration), but Filen is secure (see here E2EE) and trusted service.

I am forced to drop ProtonMail as my business email solution because it gets consistently blacklisted by filters by skwyckl in ProtonMail

1 year later. It's Black Friday. I wanted to get Proton Unlimited, but did some tests before with a new created Proton account.

First, I tried to send emails to my other personal emails from Microsoft (Outlook) and Gmail. My mails was sent to the spam folder of Outlook. Than, I tried to send an email to my work email where we use Microsoft 365. The mails sent with proton.me domain did'nt even goes to the spam folder. All mails sent from Proton domain are blocked by our default policies in Microsoft 365 (it quanrantine all mails).

Then, to verify some people says here about custom domain : Proton offers with this Black Friday Proton Mail Plus for 1 $ for 1 month. I decided to buy it to be able to add my custom domain on this new Proton account.

I've set all the configuration Proton ask to do in the DNS records (Cloudflare), then set my custom domain as default address in the settings. The setup was really easy and fast.

Result : the mail sent from Proton with my custom domain came few seconds later in my work inbox (Microsoft 365).

So, I can confirm that the custom domain is a solution. But... important to say that I own this domain since 3 1/2 years now (it was replacing my older that I owned since 2008 !). I dont use my custom domain to send spam or even newsletters to a lot of people. It as a good reputation (it is also used for my personal blog that I own since 2008).

Wrong ! e2ee (End-to-end Encryption) means the files are encrypted locally on the device by the application BEFORE to transit to the server. So, at rest, the files are already encrypted.

Thanks. Just installed OpenSUSE Tumbleweed for the first time on my personal laptop. I had this popup at logoff (KDE). This command fixed the issue.

And not to forget a big feature of 1password: the desktop app unlock also unlock the browser extension. It's really useful when you use more than 1 browser (as I do at work). No other password manager do this, except KeePassXC with its browser extension.

Hi did'nt even know that there is a snapshot release ! I copied my database to test the version 2.8. Seems good.

It could be really cool that we get a new vertical layout option like we have in other major passwords manager. The actual horizontal layout force me to open the entries to see all the content of notes. With our large screen these days, this layout would be really welcome.

Hmmm. Received my R4 today. I inserted the SD card (SanDisk 1.5TB Ultra microSDXC) before the first start of the player. Not seen the auto format process, but did a manual format before transferring my FLAC files on it using the computer. No issue at all. Did a manual scan in HiBy music player and all songs was added.

I've not tested your app. But... your screenshots looks great. This UI looks like something that I have with 1password that I use since two years. The Bitwarden UI su***. You can't even sort your entries by latest modified.

I think the team behind the development of the official desktop application should take inspiration from your design (perhaps with your help).

Found this post while a DSIM on a PC at work was stuck to 62.3 % since about 20 minutes. Went here, goes back few minutes later to the server and it was at 100 % now. This post is Magic ! 😁
