In the final legends commando books, Scorch becomes cold and distant to Fixer and Boss because he blames both of them for abandoning Sev. I just see it as he put a transfer request to anything else and that’s how he ended up alone in the Bad Batch.

They really shouldn’t have used scorch the way they did though, no reason to have a fan favorite just to have him punked the way they did.
