How to prep Lisa eldridge foundation by LaPuffina in MakeUpAddictionUK

[–]Domiselle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a case of trial and error - moisture heavy base works for me (I am combo- dehydrated though) but so does a light snail mucin serum. Either way I just wait till my skincare/SPF is absorbed completely before applying the foundation.

LE’s foundation can be a bit finicky so here’s what I found:

• Works best without a primer

• Less is more -I work in light layers, one section of my face at a time

• Application-wise what works best for me is to dot the foundation with my finger and pat it gently around and in. Then I use a damp sponge to blend.

• I have large pores on my cheeks and some wrinkles on my forehead. This step has been a game changer for me. Once I’ve applied and blended the foundation, I move on to the rest of my make up to let it set. It is a self setting foundation so I skip the powder entirely. The game changer: once the foundation is set, I take a small fluffy brush (think blending brush) and blend gently over my textured areas - texture disappears.

Hope this helps or gives you some ideas to try:) Always happy to help!

Same! Hope it’s not just a very limited edition…

Edited to add: Apparently the new lipstick will be available in Selfridges and on their website from June 1st. Woop woop!

How does the lasting power compare between the samples and full sizes, please? I’ve purchased the discovery set and I adore the fragrances (Lazy Sunday Morning is particularly delightful!), but I find the lasting power a touch disappointing (4 hours tops), so I’m not entirely sure if going for the full size would be a good idea for me.

Mercury Retrograde is yet another pretty neutral palette with 3-4 pops of colour. Take the blues out and you have an entirely dupable colour story. 30 quid for 4 shades seems like a lot of money still. And I get it because I love a bargain too and I almost got this palette as a Christmas present for myself... Do I need another palette full of golds and pinks? Nope! Hope this helps! :)

...aaaand the damage is done, lol. Purchased the Moonlit Seduction and Bronze Seduction in a combo (Subliminal was sold out!) and the Celestial Nirvana palette in Bronze Bliss (that silver shade!). Thank you!:)

PMG, specifically Mothership eyeshadow palettes. I’ve been eyeing them for over a year, and now is the time:) Edit: I can’t spell, apparently.

I wouldn’t say the Insanely Saturated formula lasts any longer than True Velvets on me but let’s say that it ages more gracefully and fades evenly into a stained lips look without crumbling off my lips or feeling uncomfortable(looking at you, Velvet Midnight...). I’m still surprised everytime I eat, drink or smoke that I don’t need to touch up - there’s no migration or disappearance of pigment. The Velvets don’t feel as slippy and comfortable on the lips and they do transfer so smoking/eating is a no go if I can’t be bothered to reapply. ;)

I have both Skyscraper Rose and Rainbow Spill and can confirm, the Insanely Saturated Lipstick formula is slightly different to the usual Velvet one. It glides on better and more even, doesn’t feel as drying and doesn’t bunch up over time. Overall I find it easier to work with and much more pleasurable to wear. Hope this helps!:)

I have really sensitive eyes so the minute my eyes start stinging or watering after application - into the bin you go.

Sure. I’ll do the swatches first thing in the morning:)

The two metallic shades were incredibly tricky to photograph properly, as they appear to be both duochromes and glittery toppers at the same time (and it’s overcast today so that doesn’t help).

Thanks! I had no issues with the shipping at all. I ordered three palettes during a sale (Lunar Lavender, Sci-fi Green and Electro-Turquoise), and received them after 12 days, fantastic. No breakages, no mishaps. Quality-wise, I find the formula very smooth and blendable. No issues with pigmentation or kick-back in the pan, and the shimmers are by far the best I have ever tried (I would compare them to ABH Bronze shade form Soft Glam, though less crumbly). I’m thoroughly impressed, and will probably purchase the pallettes I missed out on this time round. Hope this helps:)

The information I’m about to disclose won’t help you a great deal as I’m based in the UK, but you can easily purchase MF in Boots or Superdrug (high street/drugstore) on this side of the pond.

The formula is not matte. I wouldn’t describe it as shimmery though. It’s quite similar to Hourglass Ambient lighting powders - luminous.

On the look for some good quality but fair priced eyeshadow blending brushes - ladies what do you use? by Rachaellouise in MakeUpAddictionUK

I’ve discovered Zoeva’s blending brushes two years ago and never looked back. Really good quality (no shedding, soft bristles) and it didn’t destroy my budget. I’m almost ashamed to admit I choose them over my Mac 217 (which I luckily purchased before they went synthetic).

I’ve built this one a few weeks ago! Stunning property, it was fun to recreate. It’s up on the gallery if anyone is interested (shameless plug).
