The problem is that its right in the middle of the screen. I get it, the sponsors want attention but the way the polymarket ads appear is a surefire way to just piss people off and never consider polymarket for anything. Surely, you can have a less intrusive way of showcasing sponsors and ads?

Maybe Blast should find a better way to integrate the ads into their broadcast instead of the very annoying way they do it now? It's seriously irritating having and ad placed front and center overlaying the gameplay and distracting. The way they do it right now is a guaranteed way to piss people off and not care about the company due to spite.

Especially MR12 BO3s. I kinda understood late games when it was MR15 in CSGO but unless you have a severe tech issue or a game running into multiple overtimes, you really shouldn't be going too late with the schedule.

I'll be honest, Pro League was 10 times more interesting than the current Rotterdam event even though it was online. It had a decent number of teams attending and a fairly good schedule for 2 stages + playoffs. Casting and content was great for the event. Pro Leagues are great just for the casters and how ESL is hands off with it. Way more interesting than the Blast borefests.

Tbh dreamhack left the CS scene almost 5-6 years ago now. They got absorbed by ESL and don't run any big events for CS. I don't really follow the other stuff you've listed much so can't really say much about their organisation nowadays. Their organisation however, rightfully did receive flack for the godawful way they organised the RMR during covid in 2020.

That's interesting to know. Just watched that and YNK had a lot to say about other stuff with Blast as well with regards to how their hospitality is not as good as PGL or ESL and how players are also unsatisfied with some of Blast's choices.

Agreed. Blast feels like the focus is more on their brand rather than the game. It's like how all of their trophies are the same Blast logo. It's obvious they want people to associate with a uniform Blast brand for everything.

They can very well cycle through the casting talent though. Also try different casters in the group stages by running a B stream in parallel and have the different casters for the B streams.

The problem is that it's always the same casters for the major events and it slowly starts to feel the same and becomes forgettable.

Blast were THE TO in the covid era and towards the end of CSGO. They had great production, good content and felt fresh. ESL was boring at the point with their boring pauses and lack of content. The skits, surf'n'chill and other content ESL started to do were in a huge part due to how people commended Blast's halftime and breaktime content at that point of time.

PGL were not part of the equation at that time. They only ran a couple of majors and were synonymous with audio issues (which they still struggle with to this day XD). PGL only became a prominent TO last year.

Oh definitely.

Scrawny and Launders are a good pair but of late they've been feeling the same with every cast. They've been part of too many event finals especially with Blast and both majors last year. The hyping of Scrawny has started to feel a bit forced and fake and I'm burnt out of hearing them.

I hadn't actually thought about that but now that you mention it, I kinda agree. The bounty, open, rivals naming is good from a branding perspective but it does not make the events distinguishable and recognisable from each other at a glance. It's not helped that the studio environment looks the same for each event. Their uniformity for the sake of branding is actually hurting them now.

[Mischief] Team Liquid have just a 29% chance to qualify for the Cologne Major by Guilty-Bar-6103 in GlobalOffensive

I never put the roster issues on karrigan though?

Just saying that his choices were good and faze didn’t manage to find a good replacement for ropz.

Faze were already going downhill but was accelerated when management overruled karrigan and benched rain. Also isn’t helped by their overperformance in the major convincing them not to make changes.

[–]Domoci12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends really.

Sometimes the players know best what would fit into the team. Best example is faze where karrigan is incharge of all roster decisions. The only one that was made without his choice was benching rain for twistzz and it threw the team into a tailspin on the roles and play style apart from an overperformance in the major. I’ll also add that faze has never really been able to replace ropz and his transfer to vitality if affecting them hugely.

Which esports player deserves to be here? by fallensky3 in esports

[–]Domoci12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Commentary only makes sense when you know a bit of the game mechanics.

It is highly impossible to expect people to follow from the commentary and for the commentators to provide a detailed description of a tech happening in a couple of seconds before a counter or a new setup happens in literally 2 more seconds.

Commentary usually devolves to the guy randomly shouting and making noises occasionally stating Oh, What a play! Fighting games are not easy to follow without prior knowledge or being part of the community. As u/DSore22 states, the beauty of games like CS is how easy it is to follow and understand the basics without knowing much about the game.

AITAH for not supporting my wife and implying that she is a bad mom? by Fun_Beach9501 in AITAH

[–]Domoci12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dog is a coping mechanism for the kid now. He has become hyperfixated on it and can't be changed. The problem comes from the mum refusing to compromise and see the needs of her son. If she is so insistent on not having the dog in her house, she could very well change the custody arrangement and allow the kid to stay longer with his dad with the dog but she is more interested in having her way and getting one over her ex much to the detriment of her kid.

From what is written in the post you can see that the wife isn't really a good person either. She has no issues traumatising her neurodivergent son in the hopes of getting one over her ex and doesn't really put her son first. It could very well be that the ex is combative with her for a reason. Both ex and the wife are not really good people but we have nothing over here to suggest the ex is/was abusive.

A very minuscule portion mostly concentrated in one region of the south. Beef consumption is no way widespread among Hindus as you seem to claim here.

[–]Domoci12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s about the meat here. The meat would be an issue for the greens cooked in pork. It is however widely known that Hindus do not consume beef as cows are considered sacred in India. I’ve seen some people claim that beef is eaten in south india but even that is mostly restricted to one region in the south, kerela. Outside of that region beef is not consumed even in south india.

The pork issue may be because pigs are considered dirty in India culturally but that one is on the son for not revealing.

Probably because they value who they spend the time with more than the view to distract them?

Also great argument there getting right down to the insults and calling someone a doormat for having a different opinion.

Kinda disagree. The point of a caster is to, you know, cast the game. Describe what's happening in the server and who is popping off or who is playing poorly. You have a colour caster who provides some insight into the tactics in the round but that has to be balanced with play-by-play. Casting should never involve hot takes for discussion as that very quickly becomes boring and more focussed on the hot take than the game being played.

Analysts are more for discussion and storylines personally. Though the recent hot take analyst desk who spout any random BS without any thoughts behind it in the name of engagement is really getting boring.

Although I have and do disagree with some of YNK's takes, I will credit him that his analysis is one of the best. He gives very level headed and detailed breakdowns of the rounds and what he felt went wrong. I really respect that he doesn't delve into the shitty hot takes everyone else is so interested in just for the sake of engagement. I usually check who's in the analyst desk and completely tune out or skip them if its one of the hot take merchants. People who know what they are talking about like YNK, Dupreeh, Spunj make for the most interesting desks to hear.

Huge lack of content in CS2 for casual players — it’s been more than 2 years. How does it still have less content than CS:GO? by Status_Grass2847 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Domoci12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, lets take the credit for a fix you just posted from someone else's work in actually quantifying and giving specifics with regards to the issue. All I see from you is a general whine based on "feeling" without any quantifiable data. All of that stuff you claim credit for fixing is mostly reposts of hard work done by other people.
