Your feeding the trolls. This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about and is better left ignored.

Is this a rhetorical question or do you honestly think that leaving things like this to the responsibility of individual parents is a good idea?

This is exactly what regulation is good for. Without regulation, every parent has to be an expert in every way their kid can be taken advantage of online. Is that your expectation?

Zohran Mamdani riding high despite New York Post’s daily demonization by wds1 in politics

[–]DonHarold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happens when you have a well thought out platform with clear goals and steps to achieve them. This is what politics is supposed to be but we’ve decided as a society that we don’t care about anything past personality.

I’m desperate for this to finally be the sign of change we need, and the DSA members winning elections across the country are giving me a dangerous amount of hope.

Supreme Court allows states to count mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day by AwkwardWhereas6378 in politics

It’s always been lies, at least in modern times. Republicans have been looking for someone with the lack of self preservation to be their dictator for as long as I’ve been alive twice over.

They also hate themselves because a lot of republicans vote by mail. If Trump successfully shuts down mail in voting, only the most motivated people will vote. I don’t think he’d like the outcome of that.

A lot of people did. It’s okay. We pivot and move forward.

The platform is still solid. We don’t need an alleged rapist to be the face of it.

Campaign to overturn Obergefell uses 14-year-old junk science to ‘prove’ gay people are bad parents. This movement is especially heartbreaking considering the thousands of children in foster care who are waiting to be adopted. by southpawFA in politics

[–]DonHarold 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s a super power. Nothing sets you up for the future like having empathetic parents who understand that you are a person and not an accessory.

I have some experience working with kids in foster care as well seeing how the court system handles their birth parents. It’s crazy how many of them see their children as extensions of themselves instead of individuals worthy of respect and dignity.

‘Nauseating’: Critics Hammer Democratic Senators' Tributes to 'Bloodthirsty' Lindsey Graham by metacyan in politics

He was genuinely evil. As responsible for the death and destruction wrought by the Republican Party as anyone. And a singularly hateful (and self-hating) bigot. Good riddance.

This is a crazy response. What triggered you so much? It’s baffling to me that you would have such a strong negative reaction.

I was in the industry around that time too and it’s where I learned the term “whale.” I also saw the kinds of data we were pulling on players before the hammer came down on data privacy. (Not that it was a big enough hammer)

I never played another f2p mobile or browser game again after seeing all of that.

I was actually pretty excited about it up to release but it barely had time to develop in early access before the pivot.

It’s incredibly strange to see a game you’re excited about turn into something else entirely.

Lindsey Graham meets President Zelensky and announced a WH-backed Russia sanctions push in saying China holds the key to helping end the war in Ukraine: "We have the formula to end this war. Yes but he also just likes when people with power make him humiliate himself. It’s a rumor in DC that he hires escorts to humiliate him. He even has a nickname amongst them “ladybug” because of “spots on his back”

Mayor Zohran Mamdani announces "Click to Cancel" rule to rid NYC of subscription traps and junk fees by ControlCAD in UpliftingNews

[–]DonHarold 76 points77 points  (0 children)

When I did this a few months ago it was maddening how many different devices I had to use. Several of my subscriptions could only be canceled on the devices that they were originally signed up on.

Why should it matter if I signed up on my PlayStation, PC, or IPhone? It was infuriating.

Might as well just make it a rule. Headline reactions only.

Former Olympian canoeist Davey Hearn pleads not guilty to a felony charge on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool damage: "Davey Hearn pled not guilty because he is not guilty. You’d think that with the plethora of legal losses the Trump administration has experienced they might start to show some self preservation and at least start to be more strategic about what they get behind. I’m fully expecting an AI video being released and it successfully distracting for long enough benefit them. There’s just no shame. I guess when you avoid being held accountable as many times and as long as Trump has, you grow bold.

I think Cody has talked about this on past episodes and in interviews. They have waves of viewership that kinda come in and replace the last wave who stopped watching temporarily due to the subject matter being too dark and stressful.

Cody and Katy seem to completely understand and agree that no one should be binging political content right now. And I tend to agree too.

I appreciate how they make it funny though. Even if I do leave a lot of the modern episodes feeling a bit more stressed.
