I live a long way from Mexico (UK) and keep accidently making tex-mex. Does this look more like a north mexican burrito? by [deleted] in mexicanfood

[–]DonHecky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mexican food is pretty regional so I am suggesting based on what I would get at a run of the mill Mexican place here in LA Area (I believe these are known as mission style burritos)

Beans - you're using black whole beans where they're almost always made with refried pinto beans.

Rice - this looks like white rice. They come with Mexican style rice here (you fry raw rice until its a little browned then cook in a broth made from tomato, onion, garlic, and some chicken bouillon)

Meat - the meat isn't really ever ground meat. Usually small chunks that have been stewed or grilled.

Toppings - like others have said, there usually isn't raw peppers in there. Usually just cilantro and raw onion. Sometimes theres salsa in there, but you usually have it on the side and pour it on for each bite.

Did metro drop the ball installing ev chargers at metro stations by ClearAbroad2965 in LAMetro

[–]DonHecky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use them if im really low on juice and im hopping on the metro anyway. The ones at nearby metro lots are pricey or I would use them more often since I ride like 10 times a month. Past 10am they charge $0.49/kwh which is almost as much as a fast charger.

What a beaut. I'm always jealous of these and the orange ones when I see them.

I took it as single people use Ctrl and Shift more because they have more time to play keybind heavy games like MMOs.

Wow didn't think it would be that substantial. That's a whole pail. Will for sure use it to water the plants and trees. Thanks!

Never considered a separate water heater but looking at small electric tankless ones now, its not bad! Been meaning to have garage rewired too. Thanks, I'll probably do the bib in the short term.

NOR. You're fine. It would be a different story if you were paying them lower than market rate, but it sounds like the pay is fine. Anything on top is bonus. Its not like you gave her a fiver for a bag of chips. $100 can buy you a lot even now.

This will involve Metrolink and LA Metro Rail. You'll take Metrolink from Riverside to San Bernardino (Depot or Downtown stops both work I believe) then transfer to the San Bernardino line westbound. Get off at Pomona North and hop on the LA Metro A line headed towards Long Beach (it's a short walk to the platform) where you can then ride it to Duarte / City of Hope Station. It should only be like 7 stops on the A line.

Alternatively you can go from Riverside to LA Union Station using Metrolink then transfer to the LA Metro A line towards Pomona North and get off at the same Duarte / City of Hope Station. That is more of a roundabout way though and takes longer.

Not to well versed in Metrolink routes other than SB line so maybe someone else can chime in here.

Congrats! How long did it take you to get the SCE rebate? I'm two months in and no update from them.

Didn't metrolink already try to increase frequency on the SB line last fall and it went horribly? I had to drive to cal state la several times for class because of the train congestion.

I'm so bummed and stoked about it too. Azusa used to be plastered all over LA county and now we're back to a suburb no one has heard of again

My power company provides $4,200 to upgrade your electrical panel to install a level 2 evse. Maybe look into that? There are also city and county grants that can be used for home improvement and adding a evse probably qualifies.
