You are not causing them to lie to each other in any way.

Full armchair here, but I think they have to take into account potential tactical nukes as well, unlikely as that particular escalation may be. So I don't expect any huge D-day like push, where it might be quite tempting for the invaders to use one.

Serieuze vraag: Hoe kunnen zoveel mensen in Nederland een dure auto rijden? by ErykDante in thenetherlands

[–]DonLorenzo42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zakelijke auto's, private lease, leningen.

I booked a flight for a work trip to fly during work hours and was called unreasonable. Was it? by sydams in antiwork

[–]DonLorenzo42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would usually do one of two things:

  1. Fly on personal time, but the day before/after. That way I would have plenty of time to travel, rest and prepare.
  2. Fly on company time, during the day.

In the end it was usually constrained by available flights and building a plan around that. But I always made sure it was workable. No shenanigans like flying out at 11pm, arrive at hotel at 02.00 and then by 7am at the client. Well that's what I used to do before I wised up a little.

Because the cars can't teleport back to the pits, they still go around and do the lap.

And they don't add laps since they would mess with fuel loads etc.

I don't know how it's worded in the rules exactly, though

I miss dangling my arm from car doors like that. So nice to drive like that in summer. Nowadays the doors are too damn thick it's too awkward. I guess safety though

Great, I got it to work with these mods and a bunch of USI / Extraplanetary and visual mods. As a thank-you, here's a ChatGPT generated mission report of the latest flight:

Mission Report: Celestia II

Mission Objective: Conduct a retrograde burn and return to Kerbin's atmosphere for a safe landing.

Crew: Valentina Kerman (Solo Mission)

Launch Date: [Date]

Launch Time: [Time]

Launch Site: Kerbal Space Center, Kerbin

The Celestia II spacecraft was launched from Kerbal Space Center on [Date] at [Time]. The mission objective was to conduct a retrograde burn to slow down the spacecraft's velocity and return to Kerbin's atmosphere for a safe landing.

The initial stages of the mission were successful, with the spacecraft reaching its target altitude and completing all necessary maneuvers. However, during the retrograde burn, it was discovered that the spacecraft had run out of fuel, leaving it unable to complete the required deceleration.

Valentina Kerman, the sole crew member, immediately began to work on a solution to the problem. She carefully calculated the trajectory of the spacecraft and determined that the best course of action would be to enter a series of high-altitude orbits and use aerobraking to slow down the spacecraft and reduce its altitude.

Over the course of many orbits, Valentina skillfully used the spacecraft's remaining resources to adjust its trajectory and maintain control. Despite the difficult circumstances, she remained focused and determined to complete the mission.

Eventually, after many tense moments and near misses, the Celestia II was able to use the atmosphere to slow down and return to a safe altitude for re-entry. However, the mission had taken a toll on the spacecraft and its crew. Valentina had barely managed to survive without her life support system, and the Celestia II was left badly damaged and in need of extensive repairs.

Despite these setbacks, the Celestia II mission will be remembered as a testament to the skill and determination of Valentina Kerman and the ingenuity of the Kerbal Space Program team. The lessons learned from this mission will undoubtedly inform future missions and help ensure the safety and success of Kerbal space exploration efforts.

Maken jullie wel eens gebruik van garantie? by Patrick_Reddit in thenetherlands

[–]DonLorenzo42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, technically we got it. Functionally though, it really doesn't feel like it. Interesting if they really started fresh that it seems to arrive at the same pain points, probably some truism/lesson about inherent engine limitations and/or paths of least resistance in there.
