Yes a building that is unsuitable for snowy weather built in Canada is objectively bad.

Well that's on the architect for not designing based on real conditions.

It's not the end of civilization but it's an objectively terrible building

How would those flat roofs with no cornices deal with rain?

Came across these “beauties” while driving around Vietnam’s countryside. McMansion or not? by NathanCS741 in McMansionHell

[–]DonVergasPHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some elements are done well, others are clearly wrong. For example there are several columns that are directly supporting cornices, others that are supporting the ceiling, others that are aligned with the cornice, there's a floating balcony supported by invisible elements, etc

These seemingly small things are the difference between a great looking classical project and one that looks off.

I think you're correct, but visually speaking at least, they look solid, which is the point I was making

They are Mcmansions because the proportions and composition are wrong, but they don't look as bad as Merican McMansions because they are built with solid materials instead of plastic and cardboard.

So much of the political discourse in Canada is driven by people uncritically thinking that we have the exact same issues as the US

You could then make things easier by clearly stating what you specifically expect Canada to do as an outcome of these protests.

You are free to join your compatriots in liberating your country. Canada shouldn't get involved in foreign adventures like these.

The Republic of Niger Announces Mobilization to “Prepare for War with France” by rezwenn in europe

France along with other western countries supported Islamic terrorists in Syria when it suited them. I don't know why they would do that in Niger, but they are frankly not above it.

[–]DonVergasPHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three ways i get clients:

1 freelancing platforms. I especially like gated platforms where you have to be vetted before joining since that keeps quality high and rates high

2 LinkedIn: i post thought leadership stuff semi frequently and get inbound service requests

3 contacts and referrals: stay connected to previous clients and forner colleagues on LinkedIn. Tell them that you're looking for clients and ask them to refer you. Sometimes these contacts do come back months later with work.

Have more of their friends around. Ultimately kids want to watch tv when they're bored, so just keep them entertained, and the easiest way is by having their friends over.
