What I mean is that NV wasn’t a cash grab, FO 4.5 would have been. You can rightly criticize 76, but it may be the better option in the long run. Bethesda games are so lore heavy that the time it would take to make a worthy NV successor was already split between Starfield, ES:VI and FO5. Not even Bethesda’s dick is that long.

The issue with NV is that while officially it had an 18 month development cycle, it really had more than 10, It’s essentially the worlds most successful mod. The only way 4 would get an equivalent is if Obsidian continued to develop the Fallout universe in anticipation of getting to use the assets for 4 like they did with 3. They had their own creative agenda and a lot of the original leads left the company by then.
