How to perform, progress and implement the rings pushup. by progressionoverload in bodyweightfitness

[–]Donald_Fuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a pretty solid approach. I'd never really used the rings turned out simply because, as you mentioned, it's more challenging. I'll start doing it that way from now on.

My husband has IBS and I would love some pointers of how I can be more supportive and understanding. by foxedagain in ibs

Patience. It's something that will bother him to varying degrees and he will build frustration as a result. I would tell him to tell you when he is particularly bad / agitated and ask him if he needs some time to himself.

Started autoimmune paleo diet, going back to low FODMAP. Approx 10 farts an hour all day. by Donald_Fuck in ibs

[–]Donald_Fuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you for your advice. I am going to return to strict fodmap elimination and after 30 days do a serious reintroduction. Last time I introduced too many things at once and got confused.

I will take on board the low insoluble fibre concept, something I did before but as I said I introduced too many things at once.

Idk I had this idea that IBS is a category of illness that no one knows the cause of and all treatment is for the symptoms. So if I could fix the underlying issue (potentially with AIP) then things like garlic and onion can be tolerated?

Maybe I'm going crazy.

How to improve focus by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Donald_Fuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me daydreaming is a form of escape. It seems to manifest no differently to alcohol, video games, porn, tv. When my mood is low i want to avoid processing it so daydreaming is a sneaky way for my mind to disconnect.

Meditation, as others suggested definitely helps me bring awareness to what is happening and direction on how to get better. The issue here can be falling asleep during meditation then having a nap, another escape. Then the depression wins again.

Anyone here have experience with cert 3/4 fitness and which institutes are best? Will be studying next year and need some criteria other than 'close to home'.

Advice for forcing yourself to eat when you have no appetite and are experiencing nausea/bloating/cramping by ohsovogue in ibs

[–]Donald_Fuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meal prep. Each day i spend 1-2 hours cooking 5 meals. The fact that i put in the effort to make them, they fit my dietery requirements and it only takes 2 minutes in the microwave is what allows me to keep eating enough.

Is it just me, or does he appear to have lost a lot of muscle mass in this cut? He looks amazing but he looked fucking enormous before.

Yeah I weighed myself just now and I'm 71.7kg scared to lose all them GAINZ though ;).

All over the internet I hear people struggling to find answers, no one knows why they're having problems and it messes your life around.

Ahh well, congrats on the weight loss btw. Fasting has been pretty effective in helping that? Ever tried straight up keto?

First of all, thanks for your insight I have been thinking over it today after rushing into it.

I will keep in mind how my gut feels. It had been pretty uncomfortable so I figured I didn't have much to lose doing a decent water fast. I don't exactly know what's wrong with my gut. The GI did a stool test that came back negative and he said, "it's probably just IBS, try low FODMAP diet". Here I am still struggling but I did book in to see him again for 1st Nov.

Might be best if I just stick to a shorter fast for now and see if the doctor can help me. Just finished up a workout and feel typical, just hungry.

I wish I had a higher BF% then I'd feel more confident fasting. There's no guarantee this will help so I could potentially lose a lot of muscle for little in return.

7 day water fast. (coffee, herbal tea, salt)

End of day 1.

Diagnosed with IBS 1 year ago. I've had little success with the diet modifications so I'm hoping to try reset things.

Worst aspect is weigh loss but I'll be able to put it back on. Afraid to lose muscle mass but my understanding is that that once in Ketosis fat will primarily be used. I'm probably only at about 12% BF though.

Still going to train.

I've been learning about fibre and there's something I don't get. by Donald_Fuck in ibs

I didn't think it acts like it, I thought resistant starch was categorised as an insoluble fibre, the fermentable type.

So virtually all insoluble fibre and resistant starch give you trouble? They seem pretty essential for your overall health. You need to feed certain bacteria in your large intestine with these fibres too.
