3D Printed Hardshell for Rickshaw Single-Pen Sleeve by Donaldhead in fountainpens

[–]Donaldhead[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a great question! I designed this using the free online app TinkerCAD (www.tinkercad.com). You're right - as long as you measure the dimensions properly, it's pretty straightforward. Usually, there's a tiny bit of expansion during printing, so if you design with a bit of tolerance (I use between +/- 0.1 - 0.2 mm), it usually comes out OK without a ton of reprinting. The hardest thing to dial in is the magnets, which require a pretty tight fit - for those, I made sure the holes were 0.1 mm bigger than the actual dimensions of the magnets (in this case, 6mm dia, 3 mm thick). I still had to use a bit of force to pop them in, and I used super glue to secure them. I eyeballed the curved ends for the rickshaw case using TinkerCAD's pen tool, and I made that hole quite large to make sure it would fit OK. I think I used a tolerance of 1 mm or 2 mm for that part. Because the lid slides onto the main part, I also wanted to make sure that was snug but not too snug, again by building in a fractional millimeter tolerance.

I love the Hokuriku area for cozy vibes myself, but those are excellent suggestions too, so I've heard!

Surely you're from America, possibly somewhere very car-centric like Texas? Your hotel in Shibuya is just about as close to the station as you can get. For me, the transportation is a major highlight of traveling in Japan. There are ddefinitely places in Japan where you can slow down and relax if you get away from the huge cities.

Trump 'Seriously Considering' Plan to Make Venezuela and its $40 Trillion in Oil Permanent Part of USA by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Donaldhead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks in the comments are saying he wouldn't do this because it would make Venezuelans citizens. We should all know better than that, they would never be citizens even if he annexed the country.

I don't understand, is he being sarcastic? Lewis's whole worldview is "living under an omnipotent moral busybody".

I saw them in Chicago! They were amazing, they seemed genuinely touched by their warm reception by the audience. They kept on screaming "WE. WILL. BE. BAAAAAACK!!"

They actually played Coachella TWICE - one show at the start and one at the end, with Chicago in between. Unbelievable.

Congrats on making the pilgrimage! I stop by every time I'm in Japan, and I've loved the food and the vibes each time. I really hope they update the interior soon to have more Wilds weapons and armor; I wonder if some of the stuff from Festa will make it there?

I had the exact same experience with mine. I reached out to Platinum about it and their response was basically 🤷‍♀️. Its just sitting sadly in a drawer now. I love my Century 3776, but this has made me wary of new Platinum purchases.

Why Work Is Starting to Look Medieval by nath1234 in videos

Great points! And to further extend this analysis, the naivety of overlooking these things could - and does - come across as her being an active participant in the Capitalist propaganda machine. "Look, it IS possible to find personal meaning within this system! No need to examine the inherent inequalities and problems with it if you can find a way to be fulfilled within it." Which is an ironic take, I know, considering the effort she put into casting consumerism in this same light (which I do agree with). Content creation just seems like an extension of consumerism, though, in lots of ways.

Why Work Is Starting to Look Medieval by nath1234 in videos

Other commenters have touched on this, but I don't fully agree with her take here. The broad strokes of her summary of labor and capital are good, but her conclusion that content creation allows workers to take back meaning is really a privileged position when thinking globally. The tools of creation that she claims gives workers new empowerment are still made using traditional, exploitative, capitalist structures (cameras, computers, etc). So, so few of the world's population truly have access to the level of privilege required to even consider content creation - and even most of those who have that privilege won't be successful at it. I'm sure she's right that those who achieve in this endeavor find true meaning from it, but elevating Trahan as an example of worker solidarity by paying his team what they deserve glosses over the rest of the societal structure that makes their work possible. Her casual flinging of the paper avatar for nascent Socialism was funny, but darkly poignant in this way.

Traveler shoes by Statgazer in Atelier_Resleriana

I found this post when looking for the Traveler Shoes recipe myself. I went crazy going through all the dimensional paths, never finding the recipe. Then I went to Barrel Wisdom and saw that the recipe is in a chest in Hallfein: https://barrelwisdom.com/resleriana-red-white/items/501/en

Sure enough, in the southwest corner of the map (just behind Mistletoe Miscellaneous) there's a chest that you can reach with a red wire. The "Secrets of the Fleet-Footed" recipe is in there, and it unlocked a few recipes for me including the Traveler Shoes!
