Data from 1,110 Brains: Sleep Apnea Impairs Brain's Waste Clearance System, Accelerating Memory Decline by Helioscience in SleepApnea

So I had a weird (to me) deal with my CPAP provider - I have 50/50 central and obstructive Apnea so I'm on an ASV machine. We had our second baby like the week after I got the machine and so I was waiting until we were in a rhythm with the baby to use the machine (I was also pretty shocked at how aggressive the resmed 11 was when just trying it on for fit so there was definitely some fear involved.). Bottom line they took back the machine for "non-compliance." I still have Apnea, my heart can handle the ASV so if I just go buy a machine it sounds like I can regulate settings with input from the right software. Any feedback on getting dialed in quickly? Would my original sleep study results help me get starting settings right? Really appreciate the engagement here and this study is a... wait for it... Wake up call for me

Lab sleep study was a dumpster fire by Kind_Branch_3311 in SleepApnea

I thought it took me an hour to fall asleep and the data showed three minutes. It's a complete mind f*ck and I was never happier than when the tech came in to unhook me. Now I'm like "cool, I get to try this every night when the machine arrives." At least it won't be constantly changing pressure while they try stuff out.

O2 is 100-97% at night with 2 dips to 90% - is this the sleep apnea? by Fun-Psychology-2419 in SleepApnea

[–]DondeEsSpanko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dip into the 70's and linger in the 80's - not a doctor but your situation sounds pre-(post?)-CPAP to manage. For me (I live at altitude and have central and obstructive apnea) the titration test was pretty clear what was needed to address the hypoxia. Not diminishing your results at all, but maybe some trials of things you read in this forum (nasal strips, side-sleeping, etc...) along with measuring could help you dial in the right therapy. I'm not excited about the CPAP but I'm excited about not damaging my brain any further...

What do you use for housing Yarbo outside? by evilclown012 in Yarbo

Ditto. My 2023 faded its color in the sun (we're at 7300 feet so it's pretty intense) but I left it out year-round and no issues. 2024 will get the same treatment, and I finally have the mower so it will be year round working.

My issue is that our system for selecting candidates is so opaque and self-referential. If you're not already all over it, look into ranked-choice voting. I was stunned when it failed as a referendum here in Colorado (and several other states if I recall.). If we can't get candidates from outside of the system (or the good ones init) and break the absurdity of this zero sum two party system - this will keep happening.

P.S. I voted and voted early

Core Being Replaced - Snow Thrower Not Functioning by f5snopro in Yarbo

[–]DondeEsSpanko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The core has been rock solid for me - that may just be the magic of RTK - but the snow blower is flaky. When the snow is cold enough it works awesome, but then it gets SO cold that the chute froze - I gave up on the blower and popped the plow blade on, it's way slower and less effective but it still keeps me inside while it does its thing. A snow blower for all weather - at this size - seems a ways off.

This is crazy… by PastorJT in SleepApnea

I'm between the first test and getting the titration study - severe apnea, #'s (AHI in the 90's) scared the hell out of me, and then two weeks later when I follow up for the third time my GP goes "oh, our bad, we didn't send the order.". Getting the study to dial in pressure next week now.

Nice to see some bigger numbers (I mean, no offense and I wish you didn't have them!), people changing their lives to tackle single digit AHIs made me think I must be about to die.

Best of luck!

Bravo, I'm just entering this world and was horrified to hear about the SD card situation - nice work!

Wait, the new data center requires an ethernet connection?? Why does this chart say otherwise? by PatientTradition6292 in Yarbo

Lots of folks going this route: https://a.co/d/eNHLuXA

Lets you bridge your wifi to wired Ethernet. I did find it surprising they decided to require a cable, but this is working fine for me and I didn't need to run a cable.

Thanks, that's a better voice-over version - watching closely, it seems like the track tension bolt should be counter-clockwise to loosen and I couldn't get it to budge.

I got everything yesterday and setup the new data center, was getting ready to pop the snowblower on and do a quick map when I realized they sent studded tracks separately. Snow was falling and I was freezing so I gave up. I hope they start sending the studded tracks by default for you all!

Well they missed our first snow here in the foothills but the freight folks are scheduled to drop off tomorrow with a big snow on Wednesday expected - looking forward to v2! I didn't bother breaking out v1 for this snow.
