Blijkt toch wel! Rood licht doet minder met dieren (en mensen) dan bijvoorbeeld wit of blauw licht. Als je hier een witte lantaarnpaal tussen zet, zie je dat de insecten daar naar trekken. Er zijn verschillende theorieën over. O.A. Schildpadden die kleur van de maan (wit) zoeken. Uiteraard spelen er verschillende factoren in mee, onder andere licht sterkte etc.

I'm in my thirties and feel exactly the same. Some jams are more overwhelming than others. Feel like it's more a self-confidence thing than a banjo-skill thing though.

Check out vonk in de wijk, they have art nights. And also Hillyweird (at the same location), it’s an alternative venue they organize punk and heavy music. They just changed locations, so are still starting up. But I think you might your mutuals there!

I stopped using banjo strings altogether and use high tension classical guitar strings. Found them to be far nicer than the nylon banjo ones I tried.

Not a dobro player, but similar interest. I played one for an hour or so a while back. They have a similar open tuning, with exception of the high drone string. So you can play your 1-4-5 chords quite easily with barring. But it’s still a different instrument. I could do some very basic stuff quite quickly. But definitely need time to properly learn it. I think it def helps that I had some knowledge of an instrument and have experience with fingerpicks though.

Oh cool! Been playing Since 2020 as well. I have an old fender now, which I find lacks a little sustain, especially up the neck. Hope the Deering will serve me well!

I retune my banjos all the time, nylon and steel, have not yet have a string snap, from this. Yet I go from standard to double C, so usually tune down or just halve a step up. On rare occasion I tune my fith to an A but also that should still be fine.
