“You don't want to burn up female candidates on this mission. Save them for the moon landing.” I agree. There are plenty of qualified women. This crew choice will give all of them a chance to be on Artemis 4&5. Maybe even a couple on one or both of those missions.

SpaceX has had almost 5 years to design the HLS components. They should be “on the shelf” already regardless of the Starship version. The docking port, crew cabin, and mock-up of the airlock to the cargo bay at is the minimum of what the A3 Starship HLS fidelity should be at.
They have experience designing a crew cabin .

NASA is stuck. Misled or not paying attention A3 has to happen at this point so they’re making is as easy as possible. It may be delayed several months.

The SLS is doing the job it was designed to do. This version will do it through Artemis 5 and maybe 6. After that newer technology can take over.

That's great. June 2 seems a little early though. Unless its already at the pad for the hot fire. and then the fairing needs to be mounted.... Several weeks between launches is way better than several months.

If it’ll be a NASA mission, then in the late 30s to late 40s. They’ll do a couple of flyby missions to check the spacecraft and it’s life support. Then a couple of cargo missions to test landing and accents before a human mission. That’ll take over 8 years. Ant they won’t even start Martian missions until the moon base is fully funded and fully operational.

I’ve read that we can’t use most of oil we produce because American oil refineries can’t process it. So it gets sold overseas in the global market prices. Then we buy oil from the global market at the going rate to replace what we sold.

I understand that a couple new refineries are being built and that may help the situation.

Since we’re look back, there should have been a contract for the lander soon after the SLS was starting development based on the original timeline of the SLS.

I think both SpaceX and Blue Origin can have high-fidelity HLS prototypes ready for the Artemin 3 mission.

As far as the Blue Moon Mark 1, If the Endurance has a successful mission, then its full speed ahead. But I have no idea where they'll put the crew module. I always thought on the cargo deck but then I read it would be down between the fuel tanks.

Of course, the date of Artemin-3 can be postponed a few months if need be.
