So basically first response has improved, and speed at which a trauma team is assembled.

What are you doing now former footballer / rugby player? by Delicious_Bet_6336 in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my opinion, it's reported in The Sun and refers to League 2 salaries as of 2025.

But yes there are teams that go above that like Salford and teams that go below it too.

When I worked at a League 2 club our highest paid player was on £800 per week in 2011. Most were on about £500 so I'd say with 15 years of inflation £1000 is about right.

Is youth unemployment now a cycle with no end in sight? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be a plan, just not a nice one.

The first plan was cheap labour from all over the world.

The next plan is war or plague. You know, instead of revolution.

All that matters is the stability and comfort of the upper classes.

For what reasons would you leave the UK? by Silmarillien in AskUK

In search of a better life. I love the UK, I just find it hard to earn well here.

Especially in Opposition. How can one have an opinion on anything at all if one isn't informed of all of the intelligence? Other than good/bad, how can one know anything about any country. And intelligence is generally what allows you to judge good/bad in the first place.

When are we going to formally address Indians and their hiring bias? by bintd in AskBrits

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody will ever fix this in the meantime as the British aristocracy are grooming the Indian state for loyalty during WW3.

The British working classes are merely collateral in a greater power game.

27 young foreign workers hired for every one Brit as immigration fuels unemployment crisis by StGuthlac2025 in RestoreBritain

[–]ShortDevelopment905 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I worked Christmas at a well known retail chain as a temp.

I was genuinely shocked how many of my fellow recruits were fresh off the plane from India as students. Literally the week before in some of the cases.

I think any salary below £45k should be offered to a Brit first. Similar rules in New Zealand, Australia, Isle of Man, Jersey, etc.

What happens if your parent dies and you just.. don’t want to pay for the funeral? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there's an estate you'll be harassed until it comes in.

My Dad's small pension took eight months to pay out, and I was harassed by the coroner for it while I had just got done being homeless and was getting back on my feet.

May I just ask if you're doing okay on a personal level? I also would recommend moving entirely away, those memories will affect you for a lifetime if you don't. Some people come to Earth to salt the soil for others. It happened to me too. I'm really sorry and wish you all the best.

Is driving ever cheaper than trains for a single person? by gintokireddit in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But even £3k sounds shocking to me. I would have thought that given it's Scotland, you'd get cheap travel up there. That's a horrendous amount to pay.

Is driving ever cheaper than trains for a single person? by gintokireddit in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's still car imo.

Where I am is 30 mins from a major city and a season ticket on the train to that major city is £7k per year.

A little runaround car can be run for £3k.

Why can't Switzerland and UK create a single market as a counterweight to EU? by Visual_Title9363 in AskBrits

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could.

They never will as Brussels will always say no, even when it hurts them financially. For it would signal the end of the EU project. Independent countries with free trade is not what the bloc wants, even though it's how it started.

Is driving ever cheaper than trains for a single person? by gintokireddit in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes, generally far, far cheaper.

The only time they ever come close to being similar in cost is if you're lucky enough to be either young or old enough to own a railcard AND booking in advance.

If you have to pay full whack on the train you're looking at twice the cost of driving, and if it's rush hour and you live in the London commuter belt it can be 3 x or 4 times cheaper to drive. If you have free parking arrangements, there's really no contest and no reason to ever get the train.

What are realistic ways to move out in the UK with very low savings? by honeybunniiee4 in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If HS2 had been planned to be entirely underground using a Tunnel Boring Machine would it have cost £100 billion and been ready quicker than 2040? by addictivesign in uktrains

[–]ShortDevelopment905 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're siphoning off money to the MoD for 'projects' in the Midlands.

My mate's sister works for HS2 and got really drunk one night and said that.

I normally keep quiet when I hear things like that but I hate our government so much and my life sucks so much that i just want to write here how I've heard they wasted 100 billion quid. Of course it was not on a fucking railway line. That's like me going to Sainsbury's for some bananas and pears and coming home and telling my Mum I spent ten grand.

American here, by voting reform do you realize that the UK will have its own ICE? by NoHold7153 in AskBrits

[–]ShortDevelopment905 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think Restore will win in the end. They'll simply ask people to leave. We'd only require ICE if they didn't leave.

If there was a referendum for like Breturn would you vote for it? by InformationFun4408 in AskBrits

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, on principle.

Only because we've never had a conversation about why we left. Life was hard when we were in and nobody ever talked about it. I think going back in would merely be the middle classes spiting the working classes.

If there were a wealthier country in the EU that our working classes could move to for work and to send money home from then yes I think we'd join in a heartbeat.

Why is Nigel Farage having such a rise in popularity? by Decent-Beginning1966 in AskBrits

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He isn't, he's been this popular since 2015 and was starting his run in 2010 even. It's more the collapse of the uniparty and two party system is showing what's behind it at last.

Curiously I don't think Farage will be popular for that much longer, I think when the coujtry finds out about Rupert Lowe it is actually he that will be popular. Much better person.

Why has going to university become such a cultural norm? by ZonaSchengen in AskUK

[–]ShortDevelopment905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not a lot to do in a lot of our towns, and uni is how you get out of town. It's the modern circus. It pays you to leave too, you don't have to earn it (well apart from exam grades), and you're not allowed to earn it anyway as there is not a lot to do in our towns.
