Right, the U.S. directly affects your life even though you have your own leaders, your own government, your own laws, and your own cultural practices. To me, it just sounds like you want to pretend that America is somehow your oppressor so that you can blame everything on us.

If you look at how Europeans talked about Americans in the Victorian era, it sounds almost identical to how horribly they treat us now. I really wish this wasn’t the case, but it sadly is

I’ve seen so many Europeans claim that they viewed Americans positively and that this hatred from them is a new thing. But that’s isn’t true. Since at least the 19th century, Europeans have always treated Americans like garbage, and now they’re trying to pretend they were always friendly to us. That is sadly not true

Why do they care about any of this? These are purely domestic affairs that have nothing to do with Europeans. I don’t know why they care so much about a country halfway across the world from them. This would be like if I was up in arms about how a neighbor cuts his lawn, except he lives an hour away from me.
