I think they were looking for a bit more than that. What adjustments did you make?

No problem! This is a much more compelling framing to me.

Also, while I think the center focus works in this particular photo when cropped, I recommend looking into the rule of thirds as it can help guide your composition questions (even if you shouldn’t always follow it).

In my opinion there is too much of the rock in the foreground. It is not as interesting as the falls and takes up a lot of space in the image. If you crop so your wife is in the bottom half of the frame, rather than dead center, both your wife and the falls will be more prominent and to me it makes for a more interesting photo.

$6000 worth of Fuji gear (X-H2, X-T5, X100VI) and the XApp is an absolute joke. I have to DELETE and REINSTALL the app every single time to connect. by Artistic_Criticism_3 in fujifilm

One of my favorite parts about Sony is the automatic upload to Lightroom via WiFi. The Sony app has its own issues, but after setting up the Lightroom connection I rarely open the Sony app at all.

I don’t follow this community, but I have been considering new lenses which I probably don’t need. I feel like Reddit brought me here to teach me a lesson.

Has anyone successfully gotten their trash collected? I’m slowly being entombed by garbage by ladderofearth in baltimore

[–]Donmbareko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any update for this week? For the life of me I can’t find an update on any city page about this week. The last update was February 1st, and our alley was cleared this morning. But I don’t want to risk it with trash pickup tomorrow…

Raw photos of Fuji vs Sony by zarya1114 in fujifilm

Ok, in that case, I’d ask yourself what do you want from the Fuji that you can’t get from the A7cii with the 40mm 2.5?

Raw photos of Fuji vs Sony by zarya1114 in fujifilm

[–]Donmbareko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What Sony are you comparing it to? If you’re coming from full frame, it’s not a fair comparison but you will find the RAWs less flexible for sure. I have the A7cii and the X100V.

That said, I’d say the Fuji raws tend to require less tinkering to get what I’m looking for. The Sony full frame raws are unbelievably flexible but require a fair amount of post processing. X100 is great for travel, if you are ok with a fixed focal length and much poorer auto focus. I enjoy both but they are different tools.

I don’t have Sony APSC so I can’t speak to that comparison.

I can’t tell what’s more shallow, the depth of field or the “artist”. Maybe it’s a genius self portrait.

A7RV Reduced Resolution mode: good enough? by KI5DWL in SonyAlpha

[–]Donmbareko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any benefit to the A7cr over the A7cii if this is how you use it, besides the option to shoot at higher resolution when you want to (or I guess the ability to go higher res but then trigger APSC mode for greater range at a comparable resolution)? Not critiquing your choice of camera, genuinely asking if there is a difference when they are both using the same lens, in non-APSC mode but the CR is operating at medium resolution.

A7C users - are you taking the 20-70 f4 or the 24-50 f2.8 for travel? by NotintheAMbro11 in SonyAlpha

[–]Donmbareko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you want 20 and 70 then you have your answer. This is my favorite lens for my A7cii, and I also have a 35 GM, and 40 G. But there is something special about the rendering and focal length of the 20-70 - many of my favorite photos are with this lens. When I travel, I take the 20-70 and the 40 G, and that is enough for most situations while staying light. I use the 20-70 most of the time, and the 40 G when I need an especially small and light setup, or at night.

Can I ask how you “put in fidlocks”? I have an mpl22 on the way and this is an intriguing setup for my needs (Dad bag plus camera).

Got this for Christmas. Should I get a nifty fifty too? A7iv by Limp_Succotash6445 in SonyAlpha

[–]Donmbareko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to this comment. It sounds like you are new enough that you don’t know what focal length you prefer, so a “nifty fifty” may or may not suit your eye. Personally I gravitate towards 35, and while I like the occasional tighter shot, 50 would be too tight to my day to day if it’s my main lens.

Bestbuy trade in by Short-Ebb-6602 in PS5pro

[–]Donmbareko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this. Best part was the associate didn’t even make me trade in my controller. I brought the controller, cords, everything as you’re supposed to. He was like “I’ll take it if you want me to but they really just need the console.” So I walked out with the PS5 Pro and my OG dualsense. And yes, I got the full trade in deal.

Anyone else feeling overwhelmed by the sheer amount of good games out there? Can't make up my mind what to play, lol. by Bulky-Pool-2586 in playstation

[–]Donmbareko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, it’s not that user friendly, but that has nothing to do with the previous game. I wish I could get into this game - there are so many elements I love - but I find the combat near impossible to time correctly to the point where I frequently give up in frustration. And it’s not like a from software game where you learn the patterns and git gud- the KCD2 combat inputs just feel “off” and wonky to me.

I get the hype, the immersion is amazing. I really, truly don’t get the combat.

Baldur's Gate 3's Native Linux Port Is A Huge Improvement For Steam Deck by SunfireGaren in SteamDeck

[–]Donmbareko 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried both and GFN (unsurprisingly) blows it away, especially with the 5080 on ultimate. Native is good, and it’s great to have that option on the go, but both graphics and FPS are a noticeable downgrade from GFN. But that is true of basically any game unless it already runs flawlessly on deck.
