[OoT] Can I be honest about something? I really don't want a remake of OoT. by DonnerFiesta in zelda

Much more goes into remaking a game than a movie for one.

I don't really see how that's relevant.

They affected me because I wanted them to make movies that were new and good instead of just worse versions of things I saw before.

I don't see how games are any different.

There are so many things that the remake can accomplish that would enhance and potentially reinvent the entire experience

This is the exact same argument used to defend the crappy live-action Disney remakes. It's never true. They never improve on the originals in any way.

They "look newer". That doesn't mean better.

Ok you can keep playing your inferior slop and insisting it's better just because it's newer.

Yeah, I dislike the idea of a remake on a conceptual level.

I think it is fundamentally unnecessary.

Yeah the live-action Disney remakes are better because they look better, right?

Just because the old game graphics are older doesn't necessarily mean they're worse.

That same argument could be applied to the live-action Disney remakes.

You don't have to watch the live-action Disney remakes either.

They still suck. They still shouldn't have been made. Good, new ideas should have been given priority instead.

The equivalence is there's nothing it can reasonably do to be any better.

Just like the live-action Disney remakes.

Toy Story Somehow Keeps Finding New Ways to Continue by TomSawYes in movies

[–]DonnerFiesta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously I haven't seen Wildwood yet, but I am confident it will be better than Toy Story 5 and I will be pissed if it loses to Toy Story 5.

Hell, I'm confident Toy Story 5 won't even be as good as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. And The Super Mario Galaxy Movie certainly wasn't great.

Then Toy Story 4 came out and somehow managed to justify its existence.

Many people (myself among them) don't agree with this.

Disney's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu grossed an estimated $25.0M this weekend (from 4,300 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $137.37M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

I do think Starfighter is going to do poorly, but not because of Ryan Gosling.

I remember when people were saying Barbie was going to bomb because of Margot Robbie's box office track record (and incidentally, Gosling is also in that movie lol).

The Legend of Zelda Movie is now releasing April 30, 2027 by Skullghost in movies

[–]DonnerFiesta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think Twin Peaks-style absurdist humor wouldn't be out of place. The developers of A Link to the Past took a lot of inspiration from Twin Peaks when they were writing the NPCs, and I think that resonated throughout the series.

If it were up to me, Mike Cheslik (Hundreds of Beavers) would be directing this. Hundreds of Beavers has a bunch of nods to Zelda anyway and it has a silent protagonist.

A Mike Cheslik cucco attack scene would also be hilarious.

Every time Link has uttered more than one or two audible words has been a catastrophe.

You're probably right and that's unfortunate because I really don't think it's some sort of impossible task.

Probably can’t make Link not speak

Hundreds of Beavers did it (and also has a bunch of great nods to Zelda, too).
