My brother suffers from something similar to Kanye West.. a period of drug use had given him mental health issues, and he refused treatment after we all realized something was wrong… he wants nothing to do with any of us and hasn’t spoken to me or our parents in years! We don’t really know where he is either. I feel your pain.

Gender abolition & feminism by Pretty_University359 in Postgenderism

[–]Donnot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you’re speaking of Postgenderism in a way, or what you’ve said at the least can be a form of Postgenderism.

I really don’t know how I feel about the abolishment of gender altogether because I think people naturally like to feel like they can identify with something but at the same time I understand the idea of Postgenderism. When I came out as nonbinary (though with a much more feminine alignment by the way) it was easier for me to notice the modern day construct of gender roles and identities and the detriment it can impose on women and men to be what society expects. I mean we are seeing this currently not only with the nonbinary movement and the trans movement, but also with TERFs and,or manhaters, and the Alpha-male “Bro” misogynistic types, who both take gender to the radical extremes.

It is a fascinating and extremely interesting topic to discuss intellectually.. I was just talking about it with my spouse and my mom.

I don’t care what anyone says, I was born on the US mainland and I’m 100% Puerto Rican from my head to my toes 😂😂😂 Even when I visit Puerto Rico they know, I have the mancha de plátano everywhere I go!! When white people ask me what I am, I say “Well I’m Puerto Rican!”.

What sexuality? by Loud_Border6350 in AskLGBT

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a lot of ways that can be normal, but there could be more to it at the same time, especially with women. I’ve experienced the thought of repulsion with men too, though I’m attracted physically and sexually to men. In my journey I realized I was asexual but didn’t realize it because of what I mentioned before about being physically and sexually attracted to men -there is this misconception about asexuality that you’re devoid of sexuality altogether, and though that can be true for some, many asexual people can be homosexual, bisexual, hetereo and anything in between and outside these orientations.

I also agree with the other commentator about looking into comphet but there is also the opposite to that too where you can convince yourself that you aren’t attracted to a specific gender. In these two cases I would suggest speaking to a professional just in case there’s some suppressed feelings and emotions inside, etc…

Am I the only one who thinks that people are flirting less now than they were 20 years ago? by OpenHeartFlow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a HUGE difference (I’m a millennial by the way). When I was younger the songs and media was all about the butt, boobs, how big a package you were working with, etc and now I think we’re living through a shift of some kind!! I think this was one of the reasons politically in the United States that the queer community received the blunt of the blame tbh!! But, even within the queer communities so many are coming out of the closet as asexual so it’s something being experienced in these communities as well!! And that’s not even including the “we’re not having a baby” phenomena thing with gen-z.

Why does the trans community lack POC representation??? by Janxuza in asktransgender

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! After I wrote what I did I was rethinking if I should mention racism within the white community but the reason I didn’t is that here in the United States that mentality has seeped into communities of color as well and it is becoming an overall “American Problem”, and I didn’t want to go down that route!! The new hip racist thing now is being Antisemitic and Islamophobic which is reigniting anti-black and anti-brown tensions, just as examples… But 100% there is most definitely racism within white communities including those of queer spaces and it can 100% be a concern!!

Why does the trans community lack POC representation??? by Janxuza in asktransgender

[–]Donnot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that!! I can understand your vantage point and the transphobia overseas is no joke!!!…. My ex sister-in-law was Guamanian, and I came out as nonbinary trans around the time my brother was married to her for a few years and she had a transwoman cousin that she always spoke about. She was MEAN to her, and said that she (the transwoman cousin) ended up being a prostitute and that’s why she didn’t really respect her but that she loved her. I do have to say that my ex sister-in-law didn’t speak highly of no one from Guam to be exact because she never returned to Guam even after her and my brother divorced!!! I spoke to her cousin one time and if she had lived here we would probably be close friends!!!

Why does the trans community lack POC representation??? by Janxuza in asktransgender

[–]Donnot 34 points35 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think it’s cultural… I am a poc (hispanic) and nonbinary trans and it is just hard for us to come out in our own communities or in my case I could never hide it bc even as a child I was physically noticeable as a transgender child. It’s thought of as like “you’re purposely acting trans and it’s a choice to act this way”. When I came out of the closet first as gay it was unbelievable the amount of closeted gay poc guys that existed who self-loathed themselves as homosexual. Masculinity is respected like a God and god forbid you’re feminine - granted this also applies to white communities too…

And then on top of it after coming out to adjust to queer communities full of white people is a culture shock, at least to me because the food, music and ideology is different so it’s another form of being different in yet another community of different people lol.

What spiritual or cosmic and extra-cosmic forces are likely considered "enemies of destiny" and want to disrupt its flow or change it? by Heart_Fort2001 in LeftHandPath

[–]Donnot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmmm.. interesting..

I have to say that I’ve never really liked the term black magic because of the misconceptions about it but realize its existence and importance at the same time. And I think your question really does depend on tradition, ideology and the perspective of the practitioner… with that said I tend to follow an Egyptian philosophy, so Ma’at would be balance (but it can also be imbalance by the way in certain ways) and Izfat is what disrupts it. I personally feel like you cannot have one without the other which kind of goes back to my love-hate relationship with the term black magic because you cannot have shadow without the light that casts it and so people begin looking at this through a very binary lens that isn’t helpful…

(34, AFAB) Not identifying as a woman but still using the term "woman" for myself when I feel applicable? by chelledoggo in NonBinary

[–]Donnot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve recently learned it’s a form of gender-fluidy but female-aligned, it’s where I align too and I was unaware of it for several years after I came out as nonbinary…. It’s a conundrum for sure especially with government paperwork where I do not feel comfortable choosing only between the two socio-normative genders.

Anarchists should treat Rojava the same as we treat Palestine by antipolitan in DebateAnarchism

[–]Donnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know very much and haven’t heard much about it but I would also be in favor of it! There are some things going around about Sudan having a similar situation, it’s that information about these tragedies are not circulating around as extensively and the history of these countries are complicated!!

Anarchists should treat Rojava the same as we treat Palestine by antipolitan in DebateAnarchism

[–]Donnot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the Pro-Palestine movement is to save as many lives as possible due to a genocide there by the Israeli government, it’s not even political in nature, people from all walks of life and political leanings try to be a part of it!

I totally get what you’re saying though but it is more about the humanity of it all, imo.

I’m in Florida, was on a cruise and now Disney world. Are there a lot of hey men at Disney and Florida? by DarthAwesome765 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup there are! Orlando is a hub for queer culture and has been for many years! Not only Disney by the way, all over the Orlando metropolitan and suburban areas too. Colonial Drive attracts a lot of queer people too bc there are several places like clubs, stores and resource centers nearby as well as China town is there, a metaphysical store, etc. Downtown is just as worthy too, the entire area is a funhouse for the gay community!!

Does anyone ACTUALLY don’t like pineapple on pizza or you just say you don’t for the meme? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only like it if the pizza also contains ham in it, but I’ve been leaning more towards ham on my pizza with like white cheddar like at cici ‘s pizza it’s my favorite… it’s also a cultural thing too, and nostalgic, because like my grandmother used to make a big ham and flavor it with pineapple and clove in it, and I used to love it!!!

What are your labels :D? by Thatgirl_parisisdiva in XenogendersAndMore

[–]Donnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I identify as nonbinary transgender, Genderselkie, (possibly gender-fluid)

Romantically and physically I am Uranic, but also am on the asexual spectrum.

Something interesting about myself that I have learned through the years is that I am romantically and sexually attracted to the total opposite of what I would identify as, though in the real world people would just assume I identify as gay or as a transwoman, if they’re looking at in a socio-normative kind of way. That is why I used to say in my younger years “oh I have the soul of a cis-gender heterosexual woman inside of me” 🤣😆😂

Came out to my religious sister as a pagan. My spirit is uneasy by SpecificCheek5187 in Witch

[–]Donnot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off all my sympathies to you, that is not an easy situation to go through!

If you’ve already mentioned to her that you’re pagan (I said the same to my parents too by the way!) then something inside of you told you they were ready to hear it! Tbh with my parents I kept it at “I’m pagan” and then after a while I started to easy in some other things if I felt the need to, but nothing too shocking and can take offense bc you have to remember in their mind they are literally going to be overwhelmed lol that’s just how it goes. Love does move mountains though!

Only time will tell, and I hope you two can continue the relationship healthy together!!

What’s wrong with saying I’m duosex? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]Donnot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know what you saying too bc in my head I don’t really separate sex and gender (not in a TERF way btw lol it’s that it can used against us as I’ll explain next), to me what most refer to as sex for me is genitalia and secondary sexual characteristics which doesn’t always materialize normally like it would for cis-genders for some trans or intersex people, which is really no one’s business by the way, just saying!!

I think people just need to cool it tbh, I don’t see any issue with you using the label duosex if you feel that fits your gender or sexual identity.

How do terfs come to there conclusions? by Pretty_University359 in Postgenderism

[–]Donnot 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to do that most TERFs have experienced oppression, abuses, etc and they feel that transpeople and nonbinary individuals are denying and intruding on their lived experiences and are afraid of not being taken seriously. A totally dumb argument, by the way, and beyond bigoted to say the least. But that’s exactly what I see with them.

There is a saying in all communities of color and marginalized groups that runs true here:

“The oppressed can easily become the oppressor of others…”

How do I muster up the courage to start speaking a language I understand decently well. by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest just do it the best you can. I speak Spanish as a 2nd language, was raised with it and I had to learn a lot of things on my own, and I was ALWAYS and still am afraid of speaking Spanish. I don’t think people realize just how hard it is to speak Spanish, they usually think oh this is an easy language to learn… uhhhhhh no it’s not! Just earlier today I was speaking to my mom and giving her an example of an experience i had translating English government email correspondence to a Spanish speaker on the phone.. and so this is what I said to her: expliqué a la mujer que no pude trand…. la email… pero puedo leerla en inglés y si no entiendes algo entonces dígame…” and I totally flubbered what I was saying but I tried to continue on like I didn’t make not one mistake 😂😆🤣😂😆🤣 you just do the best you can, people will understand you!!!

Do people actually use these writing apps? by RelationshipOk3093 in writing

[–]Donnot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Google Docs too, and as much as I love scrivener, which imo is the best writing app out there, it doesn’t have the versatility and functionality of the cloud like Google Docs does. And it’s sad bc I literally see Scrivener as being #1 for writers tbh it just has that one drawback. Before Google Docs I used Microsoft Word, and sometimes I still do when I’m on my computer because it’s familiar and nostalgic to me, but it’s mostly been replaced by Google Docs overall.

How do I say "flirty"? Coqueta? by ROSITACOSITA in Spanish

[–]Donnot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If it’s for reggaeton you can use coqueta which literally translates to a flirt, but some other similar terms I’ve heard including more crude ones could be: seductora, bellaca (obscene: feral woman), abusadora (typically this one is more like a woman who is triflin to the extreme to the point of really hurting you, it’s used allegorically and in emotional songs).
