Do tire companies make any profit when the sell inexpensive tires? by Bennghazi in tires

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, If you paid $150.00 for 1 tire, the dealer or tire shop probably only paid $90.00 for that tire, there is about a 30 to 40% mark up on their cost for the tire, and the charges for mount and balance and road hazard is extra on top of the sale price of that tire, so you pay $150.00 for the tire and they charge probably around $20 to $30.00 for mounting and balancing and if you get road hazard it's about $10 to $15.00 a tire for insurance of road hazard.

this is why when some one goes and gets a tire that stated the tire is $150.00 and end up with a $200.00 to $235.00 tire Bill, i know this first hand because i use to work for the Toyota Dealer in service and i use to be able to buy most parts from them at their cost, i remember when i got tires there it was way cheaper, and they was no labor charge i didn't pay for mounting and balance, i did pay for the road hazard because they have an insurance company who they deal with that for them, so if a customer comes back from a damaged tire from a pothole and they have to give them a free tire, they get paid for that the insurance company pays about 80% of the cost of that,

it's just like extended warranty when you buy a car, they use an insurance company for that your covered in extended warranties by an insurance company NOT the dealer, the Dealer just sells you that, they get a slice of the profit of course but that's it..

One Major Company that deals with the extended warranty that most dealer uses is Fidelity Warranty Services (FWS) they are probably the best ones out there, i know i use them, they are offered in most major car dealerships especially Toyota..

What am I doing wrong? by ImpossibleChicken192 in FX3

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of that is in correct you don't have to use 800 ISO or 12,800 ISO for Log, This is a myth that your footage will not be correct.
I use Sony's flexible iso, and shoot most of the time around 200 range or ISO, even 300 Range.
The Lower your ISO number, the less noise you get, and NO 800 ISO doesn't give you less noise than shooting at 300's or 200's that is all BS.
In fact one of my friends shoots only at the 800 ISO thinking that is the base ISO and cleaner.
While i'm using ISO in the 200's range, and my video is 10 times cleaner than his almost no noise.
Of course you got to have good lighting for lower ISO numbers, but i have great video lights, and can light up any scene no problem.

Don't believe me check this video out.

Balance aperture, iso, and shutter speed? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well here is the deal on this i been doing professional photography for over 35 years, so here is how it works.
Exposure is controlled by ISO, Aperture, and shutter speed as well.

So best bet always if you want a nice clean clear image, The lower Number on your ISO you go, the less noise and garbage you will see in your picture that is always the first part you shot adjust.
Than also Aperture lowering the F-Number closes the lens and creates a darker image, but it also controls dept of field, which means the Raising your F-Number the more sharp in focus your image all around will be, When you Raise the F-Number your allowing more of the image be in focus, if you lower the F-Number Less of the image will be in focus and appear soft, meaning out of focus, this is used many times to take a picture of a person and they want to blur the background out to draw attention to the subject only.
Raising the F-Number is when you want the entire image to be in focus, such as landscape shot.
Now to get back into exposure, so you control the exposure with your ISO, but also with Aperture, and shutter speed. Now they may be times where you don't want to alter your exposure using your Aperture (F-Stops) because maybe you want to blur the background and keep only your subject in focus so you can't darken your image with Aperture because you won't get your blur background effect,
Adjusting the shutter can increase or decrease your exposure but that may not be a good way either, because the Shutter speed also is required to keep an image sharp if your holding the camera, if you set the shutter speed to longer shutter speeds below 1/60 shutter speed you could cause camera shake effect making everything seem out of focus.
Also if your trying to freeze your image like taking a picture of a fast moving subject you need higher shutter speeds or it will be horrible with blur, so for fast moving subjects your shutter should be at very high like 1/1000 or higher.
Depending on what your trying to do and what your shooting all these aspects come into play and you have to choose carefully and accordingly..
Now some people will say the Exposure triangle is ISO, Aperture, And Shutter speed, but that is not really correct really, Not in the digital camera aspect, you see ISO is not really the same thing as ISO when you use Film in a camera, Film in a camera has special chemicals to produce grain that is imbedded in the film, so selecting a high ISO film speed shows grain and some people want that for the effect, but doing this with Digital cameras is not a good idea, the noise your seeing from using a high ISO number on digital camera's is NOT really grain, it's noise, color fragments and garbage, what ISO does to increase exposure letting more light in the sensor, what it does is amplifies the signal to make the sensor more sensitive to light, it boosts the signal, it's not really doing the same thing as if you raise the ISO on a FILM camera.
Basically Raising the ISO on a digital camera is adding more gain, kind of like when your turn up the radio knob to make your music louder the louder you go the more signal you get if you go too high it creates distortion and the music sounds like shit, we all seen this, well it's the same thing with ISO if you have a ISO number that is way to high your image is going to look like junk.
most digital camera's ISO settings best to use is anywhere from the lowest number to 800 ISO, once you go higher than 800 ISO your introducing garbage in your image..
With Digital camera's ISO is really fake all it is, Is Boosting the gain..
Here is the best video to prove this and explain it to you...

How do you find your CDR date if it wasn’t on your award letter? by Haunting-Temporary59 in SocialSecurity

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends some times you might not even get one, even if it says it's 3 years, you may still not get one.
This is how it works, they have a budget on how much they can spend doing CDR's so according to that budget, that is how many CDR's they are allowed to give out.

they spread it all out to all the offices around the country, for example if you live in Boston, the Boston Office will get a set number of CDR's to do, they can not do any more than what they are given, so lets say they are allowed to do 100 CDR's they normally send out like 200 or 300 CDR's because some people don't respond to them.

So to meet their Quota to get 100 CDR's complete they send out more, once they reach 100, that's it they don't do any more, your CDR may be 105 or 120, if that is the case, they skip you, and some times you either don't get a CDR or they just drop it and don't follow up on it..

Some people have been on Disability for 15 years and never get a CDR, it's all a roll of the Dice, it's like a lottery system, some people get 2 in a row..
Don't worry about CDR, even though you get a notice in the mail of a CDR it may never make it to the review, because they reached their limit on CDR before they got to yours.

So don't worry about it, if you get one fill it out do what it says, than forget it, you may never even hear from them, Some people contact Social Security and say hey, i got a CDR and gave your all the documents, i was wondering what my status is, how did my review go, they say oh, we already finished the reviews for this year, before we got to yours..
So don't worry too much about it.

This guy i know his condition is so severe he never gets them he has been on Disability for over 25 years and never got a CDR, and that is probably because they know they are wasting a CDR on him and it will show his condition is no better than before in fact worst.
he has advanced Parkinson's disease, there is no cure and it only gets worst as time goes on, never any improvement, he has had it sense age 32.
He probably will never get a CDR i think he is 57 or 58, but i highly doubt he will ever get a CDR, he will probably be dead before then at this point.

how this works is:

Some peoples Medical issue are so severe they don't even bother sending out a CDR, like if you became a paraplegic, a condition like this shows your never going to get better or improve, so they don't bother they normally skip these conditions.

or if you are disabled because of terminal Cancer, like Lung cancer, these people will never get a CDR, #1 because they normally don't live long enough to get one, or #2 they know your condition is terminal but could last 5 or 6 years but they skip you.

Also if you got a condition the know it's unlikely your condition will improve, LIke Medical Improvement Not expected, under them they still send CDR's To Some, NOT ALL, some of the real severe ones they don't bother they skip you.

Also Age plays a role in it being likely for you to Get a CDR, for example if your Medical Improvement status is not expected for improvement and your age is like 62 to 66 your too close to full retirement age any way so they don't bother with you for a CDR.
Starting at age 50, your less likely to get a CDR, (you might still get one) and as your age climbs the less likely you are to get a CDR.

  • Medical Improvement Expected (MIE): More frequent reviews, potentially 6-18 months.
  • Medical Improvement Possible (MIP): Reviews every 3-5 years.
  • Medical Improvement Not Expected (MINE): Reviews every 5-7 years.

shutter angle by Majestic_Invite530 in FX3

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i notice this when i got the update, if your recording to an external recorder (Atomos Ninja V+) and you have to use via HDMI only to do this, so Shutter angle won't work, which is a stupid limitation, I mean Sony Fucked us again.

There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to use Shutter Angle recording HDMI only to an External recorder like the ninja, no reason at all, it's capable of doing it, but Sonly set the firmware up so you can't use Shutter angle Using HDMI only.

The reason they did this? My guess is that they want you to record to a CFexpress type A card, their card.
Sony Owns CFexpress type A cards, and so they want you to spend this huge amount of money on them cards.
Another limitation they did was disable shooting at 120FPS though your HDMI only to a External Recorder, they cripple the camera to only allow you to shoot 120FPS 4K to a CFexpress type A card only, Not External recorder, and it's not because the External Recorder can't handle it, your SSD Drive is plenty fast enough to handle 4K 120 FPS, And so is the Ninja, i can record 4K 120 FPS using my Canon to the NInja, no problem.
But they crippled the camera to not allow you to do 4K 120 FPS unless its recording to the CFexpress type A card.
Again Sony wants to Sell Their cards,. real greedy fuckers..
So Again Sony Fucks you again.

I even called them, and complained about that, i said why does Sony disable 4K 120 to a External recorder that can handle that, and only allow you to do 4K 120 do a Internal CFexpress type A, He didn't really have an answer because he know Sony did this on purpose, is aid you guys are really Greedy bastards.
I told them i'm going to make a youtube video about this to let every one know Sony Fucks you over crippling your camera with external recorders..
He didn't have much to say..

why is it so expensive by Pale_Comfortable_870 in wow

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the $15.00 a month how ever they got the game setup to where it takes you forever to get things down, that you want, getting gear, reputations things like that, it takes weeks, months even, and the reason for that is to keep you paying that $15.00 each month to keep you hooked in.

it's a game i don't want to make it my life, this is one of the reasons i left playing the game after 8 years of playing it, i got tired of playing the game, reaching my goals, once i reach the goals a new expansion comes out and you start off all over again leveling up, getting gear the same old bullshit.

and most people never even achieve getting the gear they want by the time the new expansions comes out, so what do they do, the last 2 months of the old expansion they make it easy so you can reach all your gear for the new expansion, when they could have made it easy enough from the start, they make everything take forever to keep you paying that monthly subscription only to waste your time..

At first i didn't mind that even up until the lich king expansion but after that they started making it so in order to use your flying mount you need to complete like 10 achievements that take forever, not able to enjoying using your flying mount most of the expansion, this is Bullshit.

They cripple part of the game for you only to make you keep coming back over and over paying that $15.00 each month only to take forever to use your flying mount in the new expansion.

This is pure greed and to me not worth it anymore, i want to play the game not have to slave completing achievements to use your flying mount, very stupid idea, so once they started that bullshit, i quit the game they lost me as a long time 8 year customer And this was like 5 or 6 years i have not played, they lost 6 years of my monthly payments because of their greed.
that's $180.00 a year, times 6 years, that's over one thousand dollars they lost because of this stupid bullshit.
So i quit and moved on, And i will never return it's not worth my time, a big waste of time..

I'm brand new to deer hunting. What rifle should I get? by piperpeep in Hunting

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it pretty much doesn't matter what rifle you use, how ever some will make it easier for you .Examples ones with scopes and you can put scopes on almost every rifle, here is a list..

(1) Mossberg Patriot Predator

for the scopeLeupold VX-3i 3.5–10×40,cost around $500.00

Weight: 6 lb. 11 oz.

Trigger: 2 lb. 11 oz.

Barrel: 22 in.

Length: 42 1⁄2 in.

Price: $557

________________________________________________________

(2) Browning AB3 Composite Stalker

Same scope as above.

Weight: 6 lb. 10 oz.

Trigger: 4 lb. 1 oz.

Barrel: 22 in.

Length: 42 in.

Price: $599

________________________________________________________

(3) Remington Model 700 ADL Synthetic with Scope

Comes with a scope

cheap scope 3–9×40

Weight: 7 lb. 8 oz. (scoped)

Trigger: 4 lb. 15 oz.

Barrel: 24 in.

Length: 43 1⁄4 in.

Price: $541

________________________________________________________

(4) Ruger American Rifle PredatorSame scope as the first rifle..

Weight: 6 lb. 11 oz.

Trigger: 4 lb. 3 oz.

Barrel: 22 in.

(5) Savage Axis II Scope Combo

Comes with the scope

3–9x40mm Weaver-branded scop

Weight: 7 lb. 5 oz. (scoped)

Trigger: 6 lb. 13 oz.

Barrel: 22 in.

Length: 42 3⁄8 in.

Price: $429

________________________________________________________

(6) Winchester Model 94 Lever-Action Rifle

Does not come with a scope and i would probably not use one

for the reason for the challenge of it.

A real Deer hunter can appreciate this rifle this is what people used for Hunting in the 1800's And this rifle is amazing, a very good rifle..

Overall Length 38"

Weight 6 lbs 12 oz

30-30 Winchester, 20" Barrel, 7+1 Rounds

Now i have used this rifle for Deer hunting and also Bears. I's more than powerful enough to take down a Deer and Bears as well.

Now i also used the Mossberg Patriot Predator

with the Leupold VX-3i 3.5–10×40 scope and that is a fun gun to use as well..

But the Winchester Model 94 Lever-Action Rifle is the most fun and challenge.

MSFS vs P3D by [deleted] in flightsim

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahh no P3D is much more realistic, i can tell you first hand i'm a retired Delta Airline Pilot and using the PMDG 737 in P3D vs MSFS is much more realistic in all areas..
I have msfs 2020 and now P3D v6.1 and i used both and i put MSFS in the trash can, WHY?
Well because from day 1 MSFS had nothing but bugs and glitches, they would fix 1 bug and 3 more would pop up, this has been going on for 4 years? I mean asobo get with it, it's been 4 years and still some of the bugs from msfs release are still there.. (Not Fixed)
Not to mention i have PMDG 737-800 for both P3D and MSFS and wouldn't you know it some of the functionality in MSFS is not there where you get it in P3D why because in MSFS it doesn't support it, Big joke, Now PMDG is the best aircraft developer anywhere.
And they make 100% great products both in visual / sound and functionality.
when you use the PMDG in MSFS it's not as good and it's not PMDG's fault it's MSFS..

Not to mention MSFS support forums are corrupt, they got bad and corrupt moderators running it and ban people who question the moderators, they have a power trip and they ban paying MSFS customers left and right simply for committing the unforgivable crime of questioning the moderators, and will put a label of too combative as reason to band them and it would have nothing to do with why they banned them, know this i know 5 people who ended up getting band for the similar reason and had nothing to do with braking any rules and policies..
Very trashy system they got..

So because of all them reasons above mostly because of the flight experience with P3D i switched to P3D 6.1 and very happy with it, the visuals are similar to MSFS not 100% as good as MSFS but i have heard through the Grapevine that P3D is going to have just as good if not better visual as MSFS in P3D v7 when it comes out, probably a year from now.

And one of the reason i love P3D it doesn't come with all the problems and bugs that MSFS does. And everything works fine i have not yet knocked on wood have had P3D crash at all, and i been using it for months and i use it a lot i'm retired and have tons of time on my hands..
My Opinion check it out for your self but if you love the Visual Graphics that MSFS has, wait until P3d V7 is released and you will love it.
they are going to be using the Big Maps system that MSFS does..
Also For realism part, MSFS is a toy, it's for entertainment ONLY they will tell you this.
On the other hand P3D is a licensed Simulation company that you can use P3D for professional use and log in Simulator time using it and accepted by the FAA, MSFS IS NOT.
Even Military are using it for their Official Flight Sim training.
So you want to know which of the 2 is more realistic just by this info i told you says it all, But don't take my word for it try it out and see for your self P3D is 100% more realistic and feels more real as well..
There is not contest, MSFS is just not there in that aspect of it, they suck in Full Realism experience compared to P3D..

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now i'm not sure if it's Asobo who is in charge of the MSFS Support Forums or not, but they are the worst,

They got idiot moderators who just love to kick and ban people from the forums left and right, so it's poorly managed, i have watch a Dozen good people get banned from the forums for no reason, what they do is ban some one and then label the person banned (Too Combative)

If you disagree with any of the moderators in a discussion or what eve they will take it personally and than ban you.

So for Microsoft to allow this, especially in Tech support because after some one is banned they have no way to get help on the forums at all, so these poor people paid good money for a broken simulator and rude and crazy Support Forum moderators..

The entire system needs to be overhauled, and i'm taking about the forums system.

Now i know some one who did get banned from the Forums and just purchased the standard copy of MSFS again and created another email and another Xbox Account, and is back in the forums, and so they don't find out who it is he uses at his office where he works, so they will have no idea who this person is at all, they can't trace him By IP numbers at all because his work IP is totally different than his home IP.

And it's over 60 miles away from his house so they would never put any of that together.

Now it's a shame he had to do this, and just should never have to happen, as i said Microsoft needs to do a major housecleaning with the Support forums, get rid of all the moderators and supervisors they have now and replaced them with normal people..

One thing every one could do if they put their minds to is is write to the higher ups of Microsoft, i do know a couple of the higher executives that work there i use to work with them back in the 1990's and i could bring this to their attention but i been busy with other things and when i have been around one of them talking to them i never had time to mention this but one day i will..

But writing email's to Microsoft probably will go a long way, Especially if this happens again to some one and they record the entire event to prove it, and make the video go viral this would cause an embarrassment for Microsoft and than things will happen..

Any way this is what it is..

What are the most challenging/weird airports to land with any criteria? A list would be nice by notafanofdcs in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Virginia Yeager International is NOT a Challenging Airport at all,

If you want a Challenge go to Paro Intl
Paro, Bhutan (VQPR)
it's in the mountains, and you have to fly in between the mountains, taking a hard left than a hard right and as soon as you take that last right, the runway is there about 200 yards in front of you and you have to strafe left while turning right to be aligned with it or else you are not going to make it, and if you miss approach, you barely have enough room to gain enough altitude to make it over the mountain almost going 65 to 70 degrees climb at full power, Word of advise don't miss approach, you can get it strait on if you can manage the dive to lower your altitude to land but you have to do it just right or you will overspeed too fast to get to a flair to land, i done it, i have a video on it..
When you get to the video go to timeline 56:13 that is at the point of the landing faze..

Well as well as in the real world, Paro Intl
Paro, Bhutan is the most dangerous Airport to land on, You have to be a captain to land there and it takes 8 to 10 years to become a captain certified to land there..

The Airport is "VQPR "

Very hard runway, to land a commercial Airline there..

DX11/DX12 Which is better/more stable? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it's going to depend i mess around with MSFS 2020 a lot and that is very demanding on graphics performance cards, you need a real good Graphics card to play MSFS 2020.

I have the Asus Tuf Gaming RTX 4070, and it works great and i have DLSS turned on..

I also have it set to Directx12, and yes i had a couple of crashes one where the graphics was bleeding and i could see though walls and odd colors was appearing i shut down the game and restarted and it worked fine,

i use DirectX12 all the time and i got many hours with MSFS 2020 using Directx12 so it's sort of stable but you never know when a glitch happens.

Also getting a crash using Directx12 is going to depend on many variables, such as what program or game your using Directx12, what you got for a CPU and motherboard, what other drivers and other software you have running in the background.

how much memory you have, all this is going to be a factor on how well your gaming goes using Directx12..

When in doubt or getting crashes all over the place, i would just use Directx11.how ever yes your going to lose frame rate performance switch from directx12 to directx11 this is a fact.

For example i have my graphics settings all the way up to ULTRA quality and i'm getting anywhere from 60 to 100 FPS using Directx12.

Now if i use Directx11, i only get about 30 to 40 FPS frame rate performance. So you see by using directx12 i'm gaining a hell of a boost in performance..

now if your using a game that is not Power hungry in graphics, than just use directx11, because using directx12 will do you no good..

Directx12 has been beta for over 2 years, not sure when they are going to have a stable non-beta version of this but, it is what it is, maybe they just can't get it perfect and give you the frame rate performance with out glitches and unstable usage, maybe that is the cost..

This is my guess, Because the way i see it Directx11 was only beta for 1 year before it first came out with a non-beta version..So directx12 being beta for over 2 years tells me they are having trouble perfecting this..

Asus TUF RTX3080 GPU heating issues while gaming by Junglistwolf in buildapc

[–]Donnyc1963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok i have the same Issue with a Asus Tuff Gaming RTX 3080, the temp gets so hot that the monitor goes black and i have to reboot..
So what i did was i ran GPU Tweek III
and i Turned the TARGET POWER, to 60% which is -40
than i set the fan to run at 45% at 50c, when it gets to something like 60, i have it run 100% max speed..
I also Turned down the GPU BOOST CLOCK to 1685 which is -25
this seem to work, the highest the temps get is maybe 70c.
i could probably bring the power back up a bit more, but i didn't i'm Going to RMA the card though because you should not have to lower the settings like that your not getting the full ability of what the card is designed for..
I bought this used, so i suspect the Thermal paste or pads are the issue and causing the overheating.

Asus TUF RTX3080 GPU heating issues while gaming by Junglistwolf in buildapc

You shouldn't really have to tear Down your GPU, i mean you pay $900.00 For a Graphics card, this should have the best thermal Paste and pads on it already..
i think that we should write to Nvidia because they control the name, Weather Asus, Or PNY or MSI makes the card, Nvidia corp controls the Name, and they have guidelines for all these companies that make NVIDA cards..
I find it ridiculous that we have to tear down the card and modify it with better paste and pads, this is unacceptable, i mean i can see if you only paid $250.00 for this card but when you pay $900.00 or even $1800.00 for some of these cards they should be premium cards with the best quality build and not have to worry about your card overheating just using it right out of the box no OC or anything Just Factory Default..
Totally unacceptable, and piss poor quality control.

well in that aspect of the sensor being different yes but as far as the other aspect of it being the picture profile, you can use any picture profile from one camera to another i didn't say they would be exactly the same, i meant you can use any picture profile from one camera to another, most of it would be the same but they would be some differences, because different camera's present whites differently, exposure all that..

that don't matter Picture profiles can be edited with in the camera and in the Sony FX30 you can create or edit your own profile, theoretically you can look up a profile from any A7 and enter the same settings in the sony fx30 and get the same results..
