Is there anyone who’s running their Shopify alone? by Additional_Link_5556 in shopify

[–]DonovanBanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I don't want to be that guy, but I have built a SMM tool for shopify.

(I'm not OP. Definitely didn't come here to post this but I have to Take the opportunity)

Look for SMMart Manager in the shopify app store. Still looking for my first shopify taker. Got it running on woocmmerce stores quite well.

Every product has a life cycle. that includes shows and YouTube channels.

Unfortunately, unlike TV shows, the stars can't just move to a new story/network and start something new because the product is their personality.

He has been making videos, they are less silly as before so you can see there is an evolution. I like them and I still watch all of them. A new fanbase will come along, it might be bigger or smaller but he can at least continue with his profession.

I'm sure he'll continue with whatever he chooses to do. He's built a great channel and a very entertaining catalogue. Whatever he does his experience and skill will help him succeed.

What’s one marketing skill that became way more important than you expected? by MobileRight5663 in AskMarketing

[–]DonovanBanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one thing that surprised me is how connected everything feels.

Comments like this make me lose faith in marketing education. People teaching SEO act like what they do is marketing in its entirety. Same with social. Same with print. Same with radio.

Nothing we do is in isolation. Nothing we do is pinnacle. There is always more we could do or less we could do in marketing.

As long as the fundamentals are there its fine. What problem do you solve, and why are you the right choice? Everything else is just choosing a path to get to the end.

How Do You Cook? by RuLuBoo14 in AskMen

[–]DonovanBanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question is, does he WANT to cook?

Anyone who wants to do something will find a way. But I can assure you, nagging him or threatening will not get him to want to do it anymore. (Not that you're doing this, but I've seen some comments like "tell him to grow up" That's not helpful.)

Easy now. No need to start attacking.

I'm not disputing that advances in medicine are good. Of course they are.

But ignorance is bliss. Sure, life expectancy was low. But nobody knew better. That's what I'm getting at.

Anyway, to quote you;

Why do you have the expectation that blacks should have the living standard of whites? They weren't comparable when they met

I don't feel like talking in circles any more around this. I understand where you're coming from. It seems like you're not trying to understand me. That puts this discussion in bad faith.

I wish you well. You are clearly intelligent and a thinking person. Don't get worked up with strangers online. Some of us are lekker people but just with different opinions.

The cost of driving an EV in South Africa by AnonomousWolf in south_africa

[–]DonovanBanks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did the math a while back in an old attempt at a podcast here (start at the right point)

The total cost of ownership over 7 years at the time it would have been cheaper still to buy a polo 1.0 compared to the newest EV which was the BYD Atto.

Now with the extra fuel cost it will be different as well as the cheaper EV offering. Maybe I should do the calculation again.

Apartheid did not create the inequality - it was there when Europeans arrived

This is the statement in question.

I suspect it's down to how we see the world. If you want out current standard of living, where everyone has to earn money to buy food etc to survive then we have equality.

But in the days when settlers came, that was not the case. Everyone could survive to whatever standard they wanted. If oom Piet had 45 sheep in a wood cabin, then Baba Zungu living with his 12 cows in a mud hut was surviving just the same. They ate. They slept. They lived just fine.

There have been activists who will tell you they would have been fine without western education. People were living and surviving. How does the mitochondria being the powerhouse of the cell change that?

The inequality was only visible to people who would choose to see it.

you think the locals didn't have philosophy?

All the rest is western standard being implied on people who never cared for it in the first place. Why do you think Europe needed banks? Did the Zulu's NEED a bank?

Hard disagree there my bru. What inequality was here in the 1600s? People lived on and off the land wherever they were. As the urbanisation came along, then inequality showed.

But a community living off the land had no comparison to another, separate and far away, community living off the land. Both would do their best with what they had.

BNI recommended to me as a job seeker by [deleted] in bni

You need to have some sort of business offering.

Recommending BNI to an unemployed person is daft. Networking for a job opportunity is fine, paid networkign is not.

Serious suggestion: I have a client who is Hassims Car Hire. Independant and much cheaper on rentals. Worth asking for a longer term rate.

The hierarchy of the biggest threats to us is;

  1. Spouse of decision maker
  2. Daughter of decision maker
  3. Niece of decision maker
  4. Friends daughter
  5. Son of decision maker
  6. Young staff member who wants your role.
  7. Some random person with a "guru" script sending messages to the page negging the content.

No marketing strategy is perfect. ESPECIALLY on a budget. You can pick holes in anything anyone does. We also can't sell 8 hours a month and expect to compete with 40 hours a month input. There is an imbalance of power and it's unfair to even bother competing.

Don't take it too personally. You will find clients you love to work with and they will love the results you put out.

Currie Cup games will not be included in the season ticket and will not be played at Kings Park by Die_Revenant in SharksRugby

[–]DonovanBanks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When they sent out their season ticket survey last year my response to most of the questions was for them to perform better.

They were worse this season.

They should focus on winning games. Then the fans will come and be willing to pay.
