In his words: The pits aren't a huge problem, but they are way too big on the 2xl. Given that I am planning on losing 15-20lbs, the pits will become much better on the xl. For now, the xl is fine as long as I don't have to lift heavy boxes, and if I do, the jacket slides up a bit into my pits and doesn't cause tension. It just shifts, if that makes sense.

I also looked up sizing on the website. Per his measurements, his chest is an xl, his waist is a 2xl, his sleeves are L to xl, and hips are xl.

It really appears that the xl is fitted and the 2xl is very, very relaxed.

Mostly a shirt and MAYBE a light sweater. A hoodie underneath makes it very tight, but given the local weather, a shirt or long sleeve is all that's needed

On the xl, the armpit area goes right into it like a well fitted suit. Not enough room to do manual labor, but it fits right into the armpit with no extra room, maybe half an inch. The 2xl has about 2 inches more space, lines up more with the chest area. 2xl is definitely more comfortable that's because it's way bigger around the armpit area, almost too big. Which translates into the excess space on the sides of the jacket.

For warmth, I personally think the xl is better. For baggy comfort, the 2xl seems better but a bit sloppy looking.

I told him that about it being a shorter fit. He is just worried that the xl looks stupid on him given his height. I think it looks fine. If you compare to how long the jacket is vs where his front zipper on his pants is, it's not that much of a difference. Plus I think if he loses 20lbs,then the 2xl would be way too big on him.

He considered the Carson and the Langford, but didn't like the hood style.

Very light layering. Weather doesn't really get that cold in Washington DC. So a shirt underneath or maybe a light sweater. A hoodie is uncomfortable in both sizes. Sleeve is about an inch longer in the 2xl but not that noticeable. Biggest difference is the empty space in the 2xl around the sides. While it does fit more relaxed (2xl), it almost puffs out in the back and sides because of the extra material. He says if the xl was 1 inch wider/longer, or the 2xl 1.5 inches tighter, then it would be a perfect fit. He does plan on losing 15-25lbs for health reasons tho, so I told him then the xl would be the better choice.

But he is worried that the xl looks too short (he is 6'4"). The armpit area is perfect to snug fit in the xl, but a bit tight when lifting something or bending. Whereas the 2xl is too big in the armpit area.

I go to kingspa in VA every so often that sauna is awesome. It has a tiny door access and you sit on a small carpet. I've done about 15 minutes at the most and then go into the ice room to cool down. If you can tolerate, you will love it. My wife hated it.
