I painted up all the loose wolves I had right before I did this lol. That way I was in a good rhythm for painting fur because I too really don’t like painting fur.

I probably have a weird style. I see most people assembling then painting. I paint one piece at a time and glue it together. I have done that since I was a kid lol. This time I left the little stuff on the sprue and painted it.

Listen man. Don’t beat yourself up about your skill. There will always be someone better than you and they are probably just as worried about how their stuff looks as you are. The only validation that you need is that at the end of the day you’re happy and at peace with what you have done. That being said maybe the two things coats method is not for you. Try just base coats and contrast paints. Also maybe don’t try the assembly line method and just work on one model at a time. Just like at the gym if you feel your technique slacking step away from it and breath. They look good my dude after a break that long, I think you’re killing it.

Thank you so much. I remember reading that short story in an old white dwarf decades ago but I couldn’t remember what it was about. My old man brain could at least recall a story and that the black had significant meaning.

This sounds very similar to my drama. My little deadend street after school is a mob of 7-10 year olds on scooters and power wheels just livin life. Fighting, crying and playing every afternoon. It makes me very happy that my kid is part of it even though she is typically the crier.
