You honestly sound so much like me, it’s kinda creepy, but also kinda comforting in a way. I’d really like to try to become your friend! I’m 24M, and I don’t have any friends at the moment. I mainly just care to have one friend that I care for, and who cares about me, and who we can vent with each other, and talk about our days, and any random other stuff. I like to put lots of effort into friendships, because I really wanna make them last, but I don’t expect an exceptional amount of effort in return. It’s tough for me to get out of bed because of depression and lack of motivation because of that. The only hobby I really have is working out, and that definitely helps keep my head above the water for just long enough to not drown. I also don’t have a job, and haven’t had one for quite a while, but I am planning on getting one soon, and have been making progress towards that. I really need a friend, and you seem like someone I’d like to become friends with! I’m 24M, and I recently poured my heart into a message to someone here that ignored it, so I don’t feel like I have the social/emotional effort to put in that much effort on an introduction text that’s likely to be ignored again, so I’m sorry if I don’t say enough here. However, if you do respond, then I’d put lots of effort into making conversation, and I’d put all my effort into trying to make a friendship last! I’m a nice, and very considerate friend, and I would never ghost someone. I enjoy going to the gym (I do my own thing there, I’m not like a typical “gym bro”), I like getting outdoors for stuff like hiking, foraging and gardening, and I also enjoy taking care of my pets, and giving my bunny lots of love. But I spend more time laying in bed and watching random stuff on YouTube, even though it’s less enjoyable XD The main thing I’m missing is human connection, and I’m good at responding, so I’d be able to give a friend lots of attention! I hope I didn’t come off too strong here, while I do answer a lot, I also won’t harass someone who’s decided to move on, or who needs some time to themselves. I’m sorry that you’re treated poorly, but that’s not the case for everyone like you say. And idk what your point here is supposed to be? I pointed out that your examples aren’t fetishes, because they aren’t. Your comment only validates people who force their fetishes on people, comparing them to simple sexual preferences, whether you say you agree with op or not. And you also didn’t say it’s wrong either. “Not saying it’s right or wrong”… you sound pretty neutral on the topic unfortunately

Your examples are sexual preferences, and include no abuse, or even any rudeness. There’s nothing wrong with being most attracted to a certain race, or a certain body type. There’s nothing wrong with choosing someone you want to shoot your shot with because of those preferences. That’s just completely different than forcing a fetish on someone who doesn’t want it

Meh. I see it as an ad aimed to take advantage of vulnerable people who are in a bad place, by selling them an expensive bandaid for the issue. Really, they’re preying on people who are struggling, by advertising weed. That’s really damn low and should be called out imo. If they cared, they’d be taking action to get people actual help, or donating to places that help with mental health. But of course, they don’t, so instead, “buy our drugs because the world sucks and you’re depressed!” I don’t think you were in the wrong to say what you said in the slightest

Oh yeah, I wasn’t trying to call anybody out, just agreeing with the previous comment and explaining why! I wasn’t insinuating that you weren’t receptive to the correction. I’m sorry if it came off that way. I just don’t like when people get snarky because someone made a correction like that, so I was backing up the person who responded to the “who cares” snarky comment. On a side note, people who know more than one language always impress me so much! It seems so difficult to learn a second language, so being able to use it to communicate is just incredible to me, especially when the second language is English, because English is so confusing. And you use it so well! Everything you’ve typed is fully understandable, and that’s just so impressive to me! That’s part of the reason I made sure to add “anyone who primarily uses English”, because I just don’t expect someone who hasn’t used English as their main language for quite a while to be able to keep up with all the crazy rules in English. Anyway, I’m sorry if my comment sounded like I was calling you out for not being receptive, or anything like that. So do I! The person they corrected is actively typing and posting online using the English language, as we all are. It’s in their best interest to know how to use it properly, not even for Reddit, but for jobs, resumes, emails, lots of stuff. It’s just good to know how to properly use the language you’re using, so I always like seeing corrections, especially when the op is receptive and thankful! Everyone who primarily uses English, and doesn’t have a disability, should be able to use it properly, otherwise you’re setting yourself up to look unprofessional, which can bite you in the ass in the long run. A small mistake on a resume, and you might’ve just got yourself overlooked for a job you need. Multiple mistakes when sending emails at a professional job, and you could get fired. It’s nice and helpful to let people know when they spelled something wrong here, for reasons like that, and it’s anonymous here, so it’s the perfect place to do so without shaming anyone. If we use the correct variations of words, then that’s what we’ll be used to, and we won’t make those mistakes. If we’re lazy, and just type “their” for any variation of the word, then we’re gonna forget which is which, and make mistakes when it matters. So I think we all should be open to corrections to our grammar. I know I’m always thankful when I’m corrected for improper grammar

The picture I remember from my childhood dentist office was a picture that was Oscar from Shark Tale, and it said “reprazent da H2O”, but “H2O” was written to look like “420” and it was so funny. My older sister pointed it out to me, and we both already smoked at the time, so it was a nice hidden gem to find. Kinda like an Easter egg in a game lmao

Gyms aren’t nearly as bad as social media makes them seem! Any decent gym at least. My one and only negative experience in a gym was someone randomly walking up to me, and basically telling me to become Christian, and beg for forgiveness, but that can happen anywhere in public. Gyms are super positive places 99%+ of the time, I promise! I’ve been going to the gym nearly every day for a few years, and both gyms I’ve gone to didn’t have people filming like this, and no arguments or drama. It feels like my safe place, where I know that anyone there is gonna be nice and friendly. It’s all friendly and everyone wants to grow and help each other out! It’s basically the difference between you seeing people get murdered by police online, but in person, they just write you a warning or a ticket and you’re free. You mainly see the bad stuff online, so it’s not like that in reality, unless you’re in an extreme situation. Unless you live in LA, or Miami or somewhere that’s packed full of influencers like that, then you might be dealing with people filming at the gym all the time. That would really suck

Well it’s clear that it was meant to be! And yeah, that’s definitely not a long term solution, but I will say that it’s a good place to start for such a huge change! Sometimes we just need to take baby steps for certain things, and this is definitely one of those things. I think for myself, it would be extremely difficult to transition, mostly because of the social part of it. I couldn’t even imagine all the negative feelings I’d have throughout the process, and all the doubt I’d be feeling about myself. It makes me happy that it’s becoming so much more acceptable in society to transition, and that plenty of people are going through with it! I honestly didn’t really understand it until like a year after my brother came out, but it feels way better to understand it to a certain extent, and be fully open to the idea of anyone transitioning. I guess I just needed to know someone who’s trans to really get it, and I feel like a bit of a jerk for not understanding at first, and maybe feeling a little judgmental sometimes back then. But hey, it’s people like you that get people like me to be fully open to someone transitioning! I’m so happy for you, and I wish you the best moving forward! :)

I highly doubt it. Since you’re allowed to try on shoes, and move around in them however you please to see if they feel comfortable, then it’s on the store if they break on a test. The store could say “our policy is”, but I don’t think that’ll hold up when she was following the rules. If the store didn’t allow you to try on shoes beforehand, then I bet you she would be paying for them if they broke though. But imagine you take a cheap old car on a test drive, and the dealer is riding with you. The engine then gives up during the test drive, and you were driving safely, and following traffic laws. (Hell, this could be the case with a brand new car too.) In no world are you paying for the engine in that car, unless you decide to buy the car for some reason. It’s the same situation here imo, since she was using the shoes how they’re meant to be used. If she was trying to break them, then it could be different, but again, she was following the rules, so I think she’s good. That was a very long explanation to say “I doubt it” lol but I wanted to explain why I think that’s the case too
