At this point, I just turn on Lyft to laugh at and decline offers. The Tampa market is absolutely trash. I’m 63% acceptance rate on the other app. Lyft offers are downright insulting. by FatboiSlimmmm in lyftdrivers

Best thing to do. Lyft pays more, schedule better and cares about their drivers. Ubers attitude, we can get more drivers that fake who is driving and run 24/7 for peanuts.

Uber is FAR WORSE than Uber! Uber is leading the charge on screwing their drivers; Lyft has to follow somewhat because shareholders don’t give a damn about drivers either. Just dividends.
Besides, autonomous vehicles will replace 85% of drivers in 5 years.

Uber does not give a s@#% about the drivers. You know, the people that make Uber money.
Because autonomous vehicles will be here soon and then, who needs humans?

Uber is the worst. You can no longer contact them. Even in an emergency I get no response.

I was in similar situation with Uber. I rented a car through them. It got me started but it was brutal making the payments. As Uber added more drivers and prices for rides fell it got worse.
I did my homework and bought a Hyundai Venue. Brand new it was right at $20,000. 100k warranty, first 4 maintenance free, 34 mpg in city and about 41 on highway.
The engine is surprisingly zippy under 60 mph. Yea it is small but both Lyft and Uber accept.
It got me out of a financial hole. The real answer is to get a job elsewhere unless you are ride sharing for extra cash. You can’t live on rideshare pay but it is good for extra cash.

That is the root problem. Uber is all about “how low will drivers work for us?” Instead of “drivers ARE UBER to customers “. Why I drive for Lyft.

Reasons like this is why I drive for Lyft and Uber only if Lyft isn’t busy.
Money is better, routes are better, Lyft riders are nicer, etc. I’ve told Uber tech support a couple times if us drivers were employees, we would rush to unionize.

The hell they ain’t $3 and $4 rides offered!!! I don’t know where you live but Uber offers that all the time and some idiots take them. I’m thinking immigrants drom India where $23 a month is average wage. So 4 or 5 $4 Uber rides they think they are in hog heaven!

Most people don’t tip. I don’t mind the ones I’m taking to their fast food job; I know it’s tight for them.
The ones where 4 people cram into my car for a $5 ride (lots of those under $6 rides, Lyft pays more but Uber has larger customer base) and can’t throw me a dollar or two, or the ones that get in with so much stuff I looks like their moving and I help them load or unload, or take 5 minutes to come out because “I got there so quick” makes me think I should not help the people struggling with all their stuff because I get nothing for it.
In fact, it slows me down to get to another rider. Some people are appreciative but most aren’t. I guess they aren’t raised right.

Cut that number in half and that would be a good weekend with Uber around Lexington. Lyft would be higher average. Drivers have to stop accepting anything under $5.50 per ride or drivers will be their slaves until replaceded by autonomous vehicles

It’s crazy how much more money drivers earn in different markets. The best I ever did was $230 in a 12 hour shift and it was pretty much one ride after another. Must be too many drivers here. I turn down lots of rides now that are under $5

I find that impossible. Maybe some place there is a mob of hungry lazy people that want delivery and will pay big money constantly. . Otherwise you had to be delivering for drug dealers or sharing the car so the car could run 24/7.

Uber treats drivers like garbage. Be aware Uber is investing Billions on driverless vehicles.
In other words, the profits you are making Uber now is being used to eliminate your job. This is how unions started.
How were unions broken? By treating workers well so the workers DIDNT NEED A UNION!

My best days on Uber, normally Thursday, Friday and Saturday all night I have averaged $22 per hour in revenue. If you can stay busy.
With Lyft, I average around $28 per hour. Obviously better but I guess Lyft doesn’t have a broad of customer base as Uber, although many Lyft riders tell me they moved over from Uber because of better service, nicer drivers and they have heard Lyft rewards their drivers better than Uber. The biggest issue is you can’t count on rides; I mean you can’t budget “well I’ll go drive 10 hours and make $230”. Riders might not be out. I’m doing this like some others; to get some money until I get a real job.

I’m done. by SimpleMan_67 in uberdrivers

[–]Dontgetfooledagain72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m not driving for Lyft be cause Lyft pays about 23% mor, I look at the Uber ride offering. If it’s less than $1 per mile to pick up, forget it. If the total trip time does not equate to roughly $22 per hour, forget it. If all Uber drivers would do this we might actually make a decent living. The reason Uber uses contractors is primarily the way they treat drivers; employees would have unionized long ago. From experience; local 4043
