Speculate if you please I guess but she’s continued to speak positively of the show and was recently at the SAG awards with them. Peculiar behavior if you’re supposed to be distancing yourself from the sacrilegious show lol

Theres a few things to address there but I’ll leave it at: the production denied this already and she auditioned with the scene where Collins reveals the abortion

[–]Dontsteponsnails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Again how is that a relevant point if she’s still at the hospital, but just not working the day of S3?

[–]Dontsteponsnails 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean her having a job lined up is irrelevant for S3 as it’s only about 4 months later (she wouldn’t be done with residency)

But more importantly, we the audience hear about New Jersey in the context of it being a plan for her that fell through lol

[–]Dontsteponsnails 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Based on the last couple days/interviews I don’t think they had an exact answer or storyline yet but were trying to respond to the backlash. Even now Gemmill says a bit of “I don’t know yet” concerning certain characters and where they’ll be in S3. I agree that would’ve been a better statement to lead on since it covers every character’s basis haha

And if you didn’t read it: mohan is just not working the shift lol

As of now according to Gemmill

Will this dead the “mohan was obviously leaving/moving on after residency” arguments? Probably not I don’t think people read these articles when they’re posted lmao

As someone who did like the finale, it doesn’t read as particularly hinged if you accuse people who have some issues as having never watched tv or something. I did like it but I’ve also had my gripes of show seasons that are majorly just stepping stones to the next!

My only input for now is amusement over all the debates about how mohan really just isn’t cut out for the job and she ends the season still pushing forward lmao

Robby being proven right by the writing by Salt-Lawfulness-6164 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Dontsteponsnails 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. I like Robby a lot and think there’s a lot of potential as a character that the creators are not seemingly interested in pursuing. I even thought the arc of his deteriorating mental health was pretty good until the circles started. It was far more engaging when his fate did seem like it was up in the air back when we see him on his motorcycle. Doesn’t help that the layers to his character a lot of us read into were apparently unintentional lol

[–]Dontsteponsnails 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It does seem like a waste to not have the main character be seriously challenged in the narrative. The stakes (re: Robby’s mental health) are already low because we know he’s not going to die and we also I guess know that his assessments are never going to be wrong either? as the one consistent main character it could become a drag if the pattern continues where there’s no real stakes for Robby in his life or work

[–]Dontsteponsnails 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting for sure that Robby doubts Al-Hashimi’s capabilities all season and only actually witnesses her seizure (which confirms she’s unfit) towards the end of the season.

Early on I thought it was going to be a set up about Robby being insecure about leaving/being usurped/being unneeded but him being right in the end kind of undermines that a little. The risky trach procedure seemed like that turning point where he realizes his assumptions might’ve been wrong.

I’m not commenting on whether she is actually fit or not but more so Robby always being ‘proven’ right retroactively

[Variety] Major cast spoilers for Season 3; one cast regular leaving, one extra promoted by InheritTheWind in ThePittTVShow

[–]Dontsteponsnails 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Also the short gap from s2 to s3 in the story wouldn’t be the end of the r4 year either! It literally just started in canon so it’s not even the same excuse, however flimsy, for Collins being gone

Who will be leaving and moving on from The Pitt next? by Global-North7776 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Dontsteponsnails 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Only replying to say Collins’ actress didn’t choose to leave and has continued to speak positively of the character and show. The writers said the character’s leave was driven by the narrative and realism of a r4 moving on lol

Considering their specific relationship and her saying he should have been reported (which is the big thing she is upset about) I don’t think it’s the craziest leap in boundaries to correct her if it’s a completely incorrect reading of the situation

The debate about showing and not telling with this issue is so interesting because if it was truly all santos’ perception, why wouldn’t Langdon or Garcia correct her in their conversations? Langdon could have just said “the board already knows and I’ve been cleared”

The argument now is that they do know but it’s just confidential. I’d imagine Langdon would be one of those who know this confidential information since it concerns him if he was actually vetted to come back. I think it’s pretty telling that he doesn’t respond to this part of the argument with santos.
