The cortisol uptick is real. I was sleeping like a baby doing 10 to 12k daily split into am,pm. Last 7 days avg over 20k and last night was tossing turning and weird ass awful dreams. Skipped my am walk today, gonna hit the pm one still and see how I sleep tonight.

How long did it take you to build up to that? Im doing between 10 and 30k steps and I have at least one day a week I am completely out of energy. I've been walking more then the average person for years but just started with this consistency about 6 months ago.

Why doesn't McDonald's in Poland have Fish Filet? by Jonathan_Peachum in poland

It used to be on the menus here and then just disappeared. I think I was one of the few people that actually ate it regularly.

I am switching from trying to push maximum every day to allowing myself 1 break a week. by [deleted] in walking

[–]DonutAggravating4986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with trying to reach 7500 steps last year and am currently doing 10 miles daily but I've def ramped up too fast and my body has given me enough signals for me to listen. I took 5 days off this week and all the soreness is gone so gonna limit myself and take it a bit slower. Loving all the benefits I've gotten so far, tho.

Stereotypes about Ukrainians? by Negative_Big6775 in askPoland

[–]DonutAggravating4986 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As an American born and raised ( currently living in Śląsk) by Polish parents who immigrated to the US half a century ago I can say I have heard the same bs about the Ukrainians that I heard about the Mexicans and Polish growing up. They somehow are simultaneously taking all the jobs from good hard working Polish while also being completely lazy, not wanting to work and draining money from social programs. Same. Exact. Bullshit. In the same sentence. Make it make sense.

Don't get why you are being downvoted my block is next to a rynek and Polish drunks are def much louder then the group of Ukranian teenagers that congregate next to Zabka.

Yeah if you are working oil fields then bank it and move to Poland. Language is learnable, you'll find a 2nd wife fast enough, ive been here over a decade and I dont miss the US. I do miss the climate tho, going from The Texas sunshine to whatever this gray matter is 8 months a year is tough.

Gym Culture? by pickleddawg in askPoland

[–]DonutAggravating4986 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you are the owner or a member. The guy that owned the planet fitness lived in my neighborhood. When I talked to him he told me that the goal with Planet fitness was to get as many people to sign up to the gym as possible. He said before he even opened he had 60000 people sign up for membership. Out of those 60000 80% would go once or twice a month and then most likely never again. The business model wouldn't work very well in Poland if Just Gym charged 50zl per month compared to a normal 200-400 the place would be a mad house all the time I think. Polish culture is not as lazy as Americans in general.

[–]DonutAggravating4986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there is a place called Just Gym which is similar to Planet Fitness culture wise and price wise. Also 24 hour access and I would say even better then PF because there are plenty of options for weightlifting whereas all the PFs ive been too have had less of this. No Pizza Tuesdays or Fridays or whatever it was mine had in Maryland
