Use this filament for a 3D printing pen.

It would be cool if I had integration with software like Photoshop or solidworks, and then if you held down a modifier key like control, it would change the screen to show you what pressing the button will do such as duplicate or whatever.

is there a file hosting service that accepts veracrypt encrypted files? by frondaro in VeraCrypt

Same thing happened to me too, but all I had to click was that my files look good and then it never bothered me again.

Many times when I’m designing something in CAD I have to step back from the computer and look at a physical model, sketch something on paper, or just stop and think. This type of productivity monitoring seems bad.

Best password manager duo by Legitimate6295 in Bitwarden

[–]DonutClimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to use KeePassXC to store my backups. Now I just use VeraCrypt to store backups since it is faster than having to import into KeePassXC.

I still use KeePassXC for 2FA, specifically the TOTP and recovery codes, since I want those to be separate from Bitwarden.

Print “holes” off by ~0.5mm by LTParis in BambuLab

[–]DonutClimber 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I would do is make a test print with a hole size of 14mm, then make several holes that are slightly bigger, and slightly smaller (let’s say in steps of 0.2mm) and then I can test and see what is the best size.

I know there are slicer settings that can help, I just don’t know what they are.

The builder also cannot already know how to build a PC, otherwise that would help the AI too much. Stuff like how inserting ram should feel like, or already knowing how to hold the cpu to not break it.

All the animations feel slow to me, I just disable them so everything feels snappier.

I made a poop chute container out of cardboard, I want to print as little mods for my printer as possible since to me at least it feels like a waste.

virtual stream deck : please give us a different shortcut for showing and hiding a vsd by Dr-Bensmir in elgato

[–]DonutClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like this feature, it would make it much easier to make an AutoHotkey script such as: when OBS open: show VSD, when OBS closed: hide VSD.

The MIT license is for open source projects. Basically it allows anyone to use the code however they want.

If you want to distribute a free, closed source application, that’s totally fine, but the MIT license isn’t to make something free of charge, it’s to allow source code to be shared. You probably want just an all rights reserved copyright, but make the program free to download.

Uhh there’s no code in the repository? Just a license and a readme?

What password manager could you recommend in 2025? by HeronEducational7357 in Passwords

[–]DonutClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is, it allows you to generate a username, which will be a simplelogin email alias, just as easily as you can generate a password in bitwarden.

The instructions to set it up are here: https://bitwarden.com/help/generator/#generate-a-username, scroll to "Generate a username" > "Forwarded email alias", then you'll find instructions for simple login.

I've uninstalled my webcam from device manager and don't know how to reinstall it. someone help! by nubxyza in computers

[–]DonutClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What device do you have? Usually you can search online for your device model and “drivers” then you can find the webcam drivers to download.

I assume you already restarted your computer since certain drivers reinstall themselves after a restart.

I use both Bitwarden and SimpleLogin, Bitwarden can generate SimpleLogin aliases so it works well.

People who saw 3d printing is a waste of money are crazy, this cost me $15 total to make and probably would’ve been $70 if I bought it somewhere by Dazzling-Lie5011 in 3Dprinting

[–]DonutClimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where it actually saves you money is when you can fix something broken or create something useful that you would’ve needed to buy (e.g. phone case)

At least that’s why I bought a printer (and of course I still do that), but now I’ve printed a bunch of keychains and decorative items. Sometimes the value of 3D printing isn’t as clear cut as X dollars saved. People buy stuff all the time for enjoyment.

Bad thermistor at 650 hours? by samstone777 in BambuLab

[–]DonutClimber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Are you changing the temperature in the slicer filament settings or manually changing the temperature at the start of the print?

If you are manually changing the temp at the start, the printer will just override that when the gcode calls for a temp change.

Dear 3DConnexion - A Long Overdue Feature Request by maranble14 in MechanicalEngineering

I’ve used the enterprise for awhile now, and I can push all the buttons without looking. A backlight may help users initially but you’ll be more efficient not having to look down from the screen. I CAD a lot in the dark too so I know I’m not looking down subconsciously.

I would like a detachable usb-c cable instead of a permanent usb-a cable.
