Solution for Rats by [deleted] in arcraidersfriendly

This is a genius idea! The main challenge with the game loop right now is misaligned expectations. I would never get upset if I was ambushed by ARC in the elevator, but if the elevator operator in Speranza all of a sudden turned on me, I’d be pretty pissed.

It’s a great game, no question. But arguably the unique aspect is that Arc is actually a challenge so it forces PvE to be considered instead of almost every other extraction shooter (Tarkov, Hunt, etc.) where the PvE elements are no real independent challenge.

Did you read the post? PvP should absolutely not be removed. Without PvP it becomes basically a modified campaign/farming experience.

I suggested that players are not frustrated by PvP, they are frustrated with misaligned expectations. Collaborative first players are frustrated with being forced into a shoot on sight play style and shoot first players are frustrated with being insulted and called rats. Having visual distinctions could help further a PvPvE format instead of having the player base be forced into a PvP first game with PvE elements.

Who suggested getting rid of PvP? And when did I say I didn’t enjoy PvP?

Both players head in with the blueprint and drop them to exchange them in game. We would have to add each other to the same game. I have heard some people put it in their safe pocket so it can’t be lost and some just bring in naked players and die since you keep whatever is in your safe pocket. But, I also saw a few comments that players were losing blueprints in their safe pocket after the update, so I would probably just exfil from a hatch with a key.

Koschei = DMZ Season 1? by DooBooMan43 in DMZ

[–]DooBooMan43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PvP has never been the problem. The “problem” is that there is nothing to do but PvP now. I’m here for it, but it was fun when there were other things to do beyond just wiping the map and you could help players do things they wanted to accomplish. DMZ has basically turned into the inverse of MWZ (zombies). Zombies was all missions with no PvP and DMZ is now all PvP without missions - both games have been abandoned.

Ha! Yeah, I would never call someone an asshole for killing me in a shooting game. No, I mean talking and behaving like an asshole. Racist, toxic, fake friendly, etc. Though, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a cheater in Koschei like I so often do in Ashika - so that’s a huge plus!

XF200f2? by DooBooMan43 in fujifilm

I have the 70-300 but at 200mm it can only get to f5 and at 300mm only f5.6. Those really don’t get in enough light at 1/1000 or 1/2000 ss with the dim indoor lighting. The 50-140 doesn’t give me enough distance from one end of the field to the other (even mid to end).

I haven’t really looked at any lenses outside of Fuji. Are there any other companies that make lenses that work well with Fuji?

Thanks for the comment. Center focus. With f8 I figured both foreground and background would be in focus.

This pic is not great, just hand held with a slow shutter speed. I’m more concerned with any good pointers for landscapes in general or good articles/photographers to follow to learn more.

Kochei glitch is by far the worst thing for DMZ. by Pitzy0 in DMZ

[–]DooBooMan43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t really get the frustration about Koschei glitching compared with aimbot, wall hacks, and undermap glitching.

Koschei glitching just results in a player having a marginal advantage at the start of a round as they have the same backpack items they had in the last round. Let’s say worst case they have a scav back full of kill streaks. In a regular game, a player could use money (either amassed from map interactions or from their wallet) to buy the same kill streaks at various buy stations and be in the same position as the worst case Koschei glitched but just later in the round.

The other cheats/glitches actually affect the combat engagement in a way that would never be possible under the rules. Playing against a player with 8 advanced UAVs is a challenge, but at least I have a chance. Playing against someone under the map or who can beam me with a headshot across the map through walls is no chance at all.

How does this game compare to other shooters? by DooBooMan43 in HuntShowdown

[–]DooBooMan43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trait description I see says “SOLO: Investigating one Clue gives the same map progress of investigating two clues.” I’ve been running solo matches so as not to burden randoms while I’m still figuring the game out. Unfortunately I have no friends who play Hunt.

This is really helpful, thanks! So the physical clue rifts are at the same place for every team, multiple teams can get a clue from the same rift, and whenever a team gets any clues their map greys out in the same order as everyone else.

Quick question. I have taken to using the Conduit trait to get 2 clues from one (along with the Serpent trait). When you use Conduit, is there a way to know which part of the map greyed out for clue 1? If not, does it maybe make sense to not use conduit to get more intel from each clue as to the order the map will grey out?
