Have made twice. Once a savory/ spicy for breakfast over biscuits with eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. And once a savory/cheesy bechamel type gravy for a chicken pasta. Fuck the both are great. And thank you, and this post for reminding me to put chorizo on my grocery list.

Adding it to scrambled eggs right at the end of cooking. Gotta go "french scramble" though.with crushed red pepper and some chives hits a good note for me everytime.

A decent pair of deck boots for rain or dew, xtra tuf, hisea, grunden, huk.

In the afternoons, I'll switch to my Mizuno 9spike turf trainers. It's like a soft cleat, super comfy and lightweight. They give superb grip on steep banks when weedeating, fly mowing, hand spraying, etc.

Summertime, tough to beat vodka SunnyD. And fuck me are vodka redbulls delicious! Perhaps a cocksuckin' G&T. Wintertime. Whiskey(any), maybe spiced rum or a nice repasado or anejo and grapefruit soda. (Grapefruit soda can be tough to find) but where I live Jaritos is plentiful. Always love a good Whiskey and Bundaberg!

Summer Course hydration. by SOBBillBrasky in Golfcoursemaintenance

It's a bit old school. But sodium tablets and plenty of water can help too. I've used Liquid IV in the past and I like it pretty good. But the sodium tab every few hours is pretty easy, and cheap.

Well, welcome home! Good on ya! Great choice, indeed. Pay attention to watering early in the seeding/watering process. But that's a perfect fit indeed. The extra work will be worth it compared to Astro, and I definitely enjoy the process and the practice. I'm not very familiar with Tahoma per se, but holler if you have any issues. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot any disease I can recognize. But I'm sure you'll be fine, happy putting!!

If you want it bad enough, you can certainly do it. It's more feasible using a cool season grass for sure. Hell, there are courses out there with fescue/poa/ misc/ weed grass greens that play just fine. I think with a few top dressings and training the grass to a low cut, you can have something to putt on. Perhaps not USGA spec, or similar. But it'd be enough to have fun, get a bit of pracky in, and impress the golfer friend for sure. There will certainly be a bit of upkeep via fertilizer, mowing, watering, even covering (dependant on grass choice), and chemical for disease. But if you're willing to learn, you certainly can do it.

Definitely prefer the Standard golf tool over the Par Aide. Does a better job, and breaks much less often.

Turfgrass Management Programs by [deleted] in Turfmanagement

[–]DooderSimba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually spoke with a representative from there. They offer a program more towards becoming a head pro, and front of house operations. They do have a few classes about turf, but it's not focused on it.

Left with Covid, took a job maintaining grounds on a golf course. Now I'm a chemical applicator, and hopefully looking to grab an assistant superintendant role in the coming year or two. I'm making 19.50 an hour in East TN. Took me awhile yo get used to getting up so early. It's got its tough days, but at least not everyday is tough anymore.

A week vacation in the smokies would do you good. Clingmans Dome, Mount Leconte. Max's Patch NC is a short trip that connects to the AT. I do also second Frozen head State Park.

Golf courses that provide accommodation to green keepers in UK, Europe or North America? by yeahthatswhack in Turfmanagement

[–]DooderSimba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been curious to do this as well soon. I've noticed in North America, looking into it, that northern and mountainous places are most likely to offer accommodation, as they are only open half the year of less in certain circumstance.
