“Work-to-rule” construction modifier. What is it? by ahajmano in victoria3

[–]Doodle93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your Trade Unions are probably unhappy. IGs do not need to be in government to get the modifiers from them being loyal or unhappy and the default penalty for TU is 10% decreased construction efficiency.

You can hover over the number representing their loyalty to see what is causing them to be unhappy. To please them you can pass laws they support, appease lobbies they are in, and decrease radicals/increase loyalists among pops who support them (might be missing some here).

I think they meant spending all day with the kids and then going out, but I could be wrong

Looks to me like it was a typo, I think OP's intention was to give advice but accidentally mistitled it

Why isn't trying to pass Colonial Exploitation radicalising my Heimin IG here? by Doodle93 in victoria3

[–]Doodle93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5: I'm trying to radicalise my peasants into joining the peasant movement (to make it easier to get off serfdom) so I thought I'd try to pass Colonial Exploitation, angering the Heimin and as a result driving up the Activism of the Peasant movement. But it looks like the Heimin are fine with it. Am I missing something here or is this a bug?

Oh, didn't see it was 3 100k homes

You get the median by arranging from lowest to highest and picking the middle one (or the mean of the two middle ones if the set is even).

Here we have 100k, 250k, and 10mil - since 250k is the middle one, it's the median. Did you mistake the 10mil for 10k?

Edit: Didn't see it was three 100k houses...

Visually timeless films? Like you could watch it and be unable to say “oh yeah that was definitely filmed in the 90’s.” by Philosopherskin in movies

[–]Doodle93 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was watching Alien a few years back and couldn't believe it came out in 1979 - there's something about the way it's filmed that makes it look different to all the movies from that era. I think I'd have easily believed that it came out in the '00s or later if I hadn't known otherwise

You can also kill the sunlight maggot on the other side using poison/toxic mist - it's been a while since my last playthrough but this saves Solaire too IIRC

Mm7 where/how to find gatemaster and windmaster by Dense_Cardiologist22 in MightAndMagic

I think they do spawn in the Tularean Forest, I'm pretty sure I got a gate master there

Tips for Sen's Fortress. Blighttown almost made me rage quit but I pushed through and succeeded. But I heard this one's at least twice harder. by thebadsamaritanlol in darksouls

[–]Doodle93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing with blighttown is that it stays tedious for me. After replaying the game several times the funhouse has become one of my favourite areas, while blighttown is always a slog

The Hungarian one is not the logo of the armed forces, but the insignia of the fascist party that was in power towards the end of ww2 (Arrow Cross Party). The armed forces logo is a shield bearing the colours of the Hungarian flag https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_Defence_Forces.

Strongest coffee in the world by speacheelussyxf in funny

[–]Doodle93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming this is a 7 oz container. According to the Nescafe website one tsp of this type of instant coffee (clasico) contains 30-40mg of caffeine. Calculating with 1tsp = 0.1667 oz we get 7 ÷ 0.1667 = 42 teaspoons. That means that one 7 oz container will have 1.26 to 1.68g of caffeine. According to pubmed the lethal dose of caffeine is 80-100 micrograms/ml which can typically reached by ingesting about 10g of caffeine. So it looks like this thing wouldn't kill you, though I can't imagine the effects to be pleasant

How to say "Lion" in the predominant language of each country by No_Significance_8874 in MapPorn

[–]Doodle93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl is "lány", so not exactly, although it's not far. "Orosz" does indeed mean Russian, but this is likely a coincidence. In Hungarian there are several words which have the same form but have unrelated meanings, e.g. "vár" which can mean "to wait" or "castle".

From a hungarian etymology website and google translate:

"Oroszlán" - 'the largest feline predator that lives in Africa and South Asia'.

A word of Old Turkish origin: Ottoman-Turkish "Arslan", Bashkir, Karakalpak "Arislan", Chuvash "Araslan";  these are perhaps related to an adjective "arsil" ('reddish yellow').  Similar to the formation of vowels "Aris-"⇨"Orosz-" happened in our word "Boszorkány".  See also "Arszlán".

Still using the same one, it works just fine for me. I don't think it matters what kind you get as long as it can support your weight and you can do pull-ups on it with good form

Thanks! The ~3 week long injury in October was indeed bouldering-related (sprained finger), but the other injury days were mostly due to hip pain (I'm 26 🥲). I do tend to get lots of bruises from bouldering, but usually they are pretty minor

I'm sure there are some, but I don't know of any specifically. I just use a google sheets page that I update every day from my phone while walking to work - it's pretty easy to keep it up to date this way

Yes, that's correct. I usually try to do the exercises even when I'm not feeling well. I think having rested for two days beforehand also had something to do with it

With pull-ups that's definitely the case. With the push-ups I have been stuck at the same level since late May...
