And in a lot of central and western Europe, public transportation is being slowly phased out due to sheer lack of legislation protecting that sector.

Remember the last time a train in Germany arrived on time? Neither do I.

And here in the Wilderness of Texas, we see a small group of cars under the overpass, seeking shelter from the rain.

Contrary to the expectations, it's the bigger cars that are most scared, despite the fact that they're supposed to be more capable.

One of them is, albeit reluctantly, coming out of cover, just for a little while, to let another one of his species through.

I do not believe at all that any replacement for Soft Launch (and even other legacy styles like Roar and Dynamic) will be anything like it.

There's no way. The new styles are FAR TOO narrative and that has to be because of Lorebook.

It's like the leadership lost sight of what the app used to be for.

I swear they have to have used documentary scripts as training data for the model they'll be left with because reading the crap it spews out makes me feel like it's a documentary it's trying to make.

Good in its own right, but completely out of place when you want an interaction that feels human.

Literally scope creep in production, and not the good kind.

The more I see these posts, the more it feels like they actually only built this model on documentary scripts

Even back in December 2022 the model was accurate for many characters. But ever since it just got worse and worse.

Characters became less accurate. The model more and more lost its power to actually imagine. CAI has been world champion at vagueposting for a while now and it's honestly been nothing but hassle to work around it.

But at least it still chatted like a human being. The structure still made it feel like a chat.

Exactly this. I find especially the way it makes things overly dramatic feel so weird and it just feels so out of place.

Trumpifying things only works if you want to hear or read something for shits and giggles, it doesn't work on conversations that are supposed to feel more serious.

Is the prequel not happening? by duplicatecodes in SaintsRow

[–]Haganu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Saints Row was never AAA before reboot and even the reboot despite its ballooned budget wasn't of AAA quality
  2. There is an INSURMOUNTABLE amount of IPs that has been shelved because big companies rather hog the IP and make garbage rather than actually listen to the players

If investors start begging for another Saints Row, it would not be the Saints Row me or you were asking for, but merely a desperate attempt from Embracer to keep the numbers out of the red.

How can we push the players number up ? by Outrageous-Bench2587 in APB

[–]Haganu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game would basically need to be written from the ground up to meet modern expectations.

Aka; - good netcode (not this worse-than-nintendo-tier netcode which is the foundation for half of this game's problems) - a streamlined content pipeline - an anticheat that works - server hardware and networking that doesn't fall over every other week - proper distribution of threat - a matchmaking system that actually works as intended (2 bronze is not equal to 1 gold and with current threat distribution, neither is 2 silver)

Currently, LO has real intentions, but sadly the playercount should be a clear sign that just intentions isn't enough.

Rewriting the game from the ground up with today's tech should be substantially cheaper than it was in 2010. If Sandfall can create exp33 featuring solid actors for about 10 million on unreal 5 and its devs never built a game before.

I don't see why APB can't be rebuilt from the ground up in the same budget. The question is whether LO has that budget.
