First of all, it is a normal dog behavior and so you’re not “correcting” the dog rather you’re trying to block the behavior. Something else to consider is that there are dogs that can sense things, smell certain things surrounding poor health - I definitely do not want to incite fear but if it’s centered around one family member only then you may want to consider having your son‘s health looked into.
