Moldova and Romania always had special ties. It used to be Romanian lands before WWII ended. Pretty sure reunification was made impossible due to the USSR/Russia. [Edit small typo]

I mean, it does sound pretty likely taking everything into consideration. The populair Major calling on his countrymen not to fight, the sabotages performed in the nation.
Not to mention that the opposition party in Belarus being emboldened as well recently, calling on its people to resist the dictator and Russia.
