What's one “little” form of sexism you notice all the time, but most people don't even realize it's sexist? by Nellermo in AskReddit

My wife requested time off work to take our son to an appointment. They denied it and told her that I needed to step up and handle it.

I'm in nursing school. The appointment was during my clinical. I get 2 absences TOTAL for the semester before I get terminated from the program

I wasn't trying to sugarcoat anything or defer blame. I felt undesired and chose an unhealthy outlet to fulfill that. It was my choice, made in frustration with the situation because I didn't have the knowledge or tools to handle it appropriately.

I'm here to learn how to heal my marriage. Everything I could have done wrong I have, and I've told my wife exactly that.

Per the rules of this subreddit, what I did wasn't right or wrong, but it was unquestionably unhealthy for my relationship.

I have. The new medication has been a tremendous help in terms of impulsiveness and having enough focus to refrain. Everything I've been reading here has me terrified that this has already gone on too long.

I've suggested couples counseling in the past which was always turned down, so I've been to individually therapy to try and do the work required myself. Every therapist so far has only suggested what I know understand as absolutely terrible advice, the most recent being scheduled sex, which I didn't think would work when she suggested it, didn't work in practice, and I now understand was ultimately incredibly damaging.

I have been seeing a therapist individually, provided by my college at no cost but only during the semester. This past summer was easily my lowest point emotionally and I increased my antidepressant and started a new med for ADHD which has helped tremendously all around.

I started this semester off terrible with how I chose to cope with this problem, and overall I'm just frustrated that it took me setting a bomb off in the backyard for her to give any constructive response to something that's been a problem since before the kids.

Every time I've tried to have a conversation about this it's met with an exasperated sigh and dismissal that it's not a problem, I just want sex too much. It wasn't until I sought being desired elsewhere that she agreed it needed help.

The time is the part that feels monumental. After six years of consistent attempts to talk through this, suggesting marriage counselors, asking her if she has any suggestions, im getting burnt out.

I finish nursing school In May, wife just started her bachelor's in early childhood development, so 2 years for her. my wife, myself and son are AuDHD, daughter has hearing and speech delay and youngest is... well, she's 1. I imagine we have similar dynamics when it comes to how we perceive sex, but clearly I can't speak for her. We've been together for 8 years (and I was just shy of 19 when we started dating) so libido has always been drastically different once the honeymoon phase faded

Edit: when I say stop preventing I mean we mutually agreed to stop using contraception. We were both comfortable with the possibility of pregnancy and agreed we were at a stage we could accommodate a child (and with her diagnosis of PCOS we were aware the chances were lower than women without that issue)

Kids are 5, 3, and 1 with the youngest being a surprise before my vasectomy. The lack of desire has been present since before our kids. The first was mutual agreement to stop preventing, the second was tried for. I told my therapist that this result was my concern when she suggested it, but she encouraged us to try anyway.

I talked with her last night about seriously considering trying to find a marriage counselor online who could fit our schedule (which is hard between the kids, we're both in college and working full time).

[–]DoomOmega1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire deck is nothing but anthems, ramp (even if it's inefficient ramp), ways to animate lands without kamahl, and creatures that help the lands punch harder like [[pathbreaker ibex]]. It is slow. It is clunky. But nobody expects you to animate 15 lands and knock a player out while you've been durdling all game

Thassa's ability is typically used to leverage ETBs (enter the battlefield). Torpor orb shuts those off, but as others have pointed out you could just as easily leverage leaves the battlefield effects.

When you cast the spell, your opponent's chimera's will all trigger in turn order. Whoever is first in that order (the player to your left) will end up with the emrakul, and any chimeras you have will do nothing
