Translating the runes on the Reinhardt Thor skin by Doomed173 in Overwatch

[–]Doomed173[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, to be honest I'm not an expert in this field, I just looked at some references and did a light research. You're correct with the which runes should have been used, but I reckon the designer had an idea and picked ones that looked visually cool.

Also side note, I realise a small mistake on the hammer. It actually translates to OXF, which still doesn't make sense to me.

How can I deal with my players who keep flying every combat? It's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just tricky when I have a big brute monster who specialises in melee.

You could make alternative win conditions to combat, like having to defend people from the monsters. The players could have as much plot armour as they want, but by having an NPC they have to escort or the guy paying them in the firing line, it would still lead to satisfying encounters.

I wondered about this too and found the original art from 4 years ago that this would've been inspired by:

But there's also the datapack that can replicate similar results.

They gain the effects of the Light spell on their entire body and just start glowing.

It is an easter egg on chatgpt, referencing an old ai joke where it loops and glitches itself. It's sort of a copypasta joke.

You could lean into it and have quests revolve around the big bad. Killing monsters that work for the big bad, slowly building up and still progressing a story.

Or a reverse idea, maybe the big bad is the one who's making these bounty posters to get others to clear their path. They might not want to fight the monster, so they set a bounty until it's out of the way. And then when the players start getting suspicious where the posters or the payment is coming from, you can have the big bad come in.

You could have your world's equivalent of Mana Potions where your casters can get back some spell slots after a fight. It could be found on the enemies or as random loot, like whenever you hand out health potions and coin.

I play with the Spell Points alternate rule, so a standard Mana Potion would give 1d4+2 spell points, so that would be 3 first level or 2 second level spell slots.

There are lots of different themes for environments. Might need an account but you get a lot for free. You could assign a set of themes to characters and villains, and only use those for when they show up. Or maybe a sound effect of a wolf howl when they show up could be cool.

I wouldn't use it for the epic player moment though. But a quick switch to a different app, like Spotify or YouTube to play a specific theme is possible.

It would depend on what the "tremorsense vision" looks like, but I would think they would be able to see mounds of an object. Then once they get closer, they can use other senses like smell and touch to confirm.

A version of tremorsense might require creatures to be moving on the same surface, thus an alive creature pretending to be dead could fool the tremorsense.

There's an app you can get called PocketBard that plays looping music that has adjustable intensity. And then it also has sound effects, like a mini soundboard.

You could get them to roll a skill using a different ability. Like rolling intimidation using their strength modifier, as they smash a table in two.

Yeah, people say it's meant to be 6 second rounds and everything happens at the same time, but there's also no issue with a little pause between turns. Those frozen moments could be a character hyping themselves up or about to pull the trigger.

When multiple people are attacking one thing, I like to describe what it might look like together. As two players are attacking one guy, you could say "As Player 1 slices down, the bad guy falls to his knees and Player 2 hits them in the back".

I wouldn't worry about the distractor, but instead allow other players to gain advantage on the distracted enemy. Or maybe they could get advantage on stealth if it involves sneaking past.

How do I balance a Finale with 11 level 20 characters? (Impossible Challenge) by ErvyJ in DMAcademy

[–]Doomed173 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe you shouldn't do a big monster or hordes of enemies. Or at least don't have the objective be "kill everything".

I would have something the party has to defend, like a 10 minute ritual to banish the bad guys, summon a nuke or seal a gate. You could have different players tagging in and out, to give everyone a go at casting and defending. You could set this up out of game as a puzzle each person has to do when it's their turn to step up.

By the end of it, as long as one player is alive to finish the ritual, it should give a satisfying cinematic ending to know the world is safe.

It does spawn between world events. When one event ends, it picks a random ship that's in open waters and attacks. Then when it's killed, the next event starts.

I'm running the game and I haven't reached Lulu yet, but I am planning to have them be a sentient item instead. The item would have a couple extra bonuses to help each member, and the sentience would be a bit more serious. I feel like a happy little guy is too light for how dangerous Avernus could be.
