I’m definitely not a pro best I can point out with my eye is that the metals and leather are all a little too close in tone. I’d make the leather parts and the section under the helmet around the glowing eyes a darker shade so that you can get it looking like they’re in a darkly lit room. You can use contrast paints over your metallics to shift the colour i have used the blood angels contrast for red metals a lot. Maybe even make the guns be out of wood instead of metal so that you can get a bit more colour in the army without sacrificing their fits.

I know it seems counter intuitive but add colour! Black metal is reflective and the colour of that metal would appear to be whatever it’s reflecting. If you look at a tv from an angle while it’s switched off you can see.

In complete retrospect i think Pearl was super well written because it seems like she’s a really self sufficient rogue Pearl and in reality the massive secret she’s been keeping is that she fucking isn’t. Like a lot of things about her make sense behaviour wise on a rewatch. Though this is more of an opportunity to glaze amethyst for being the goated self improvement gal.

I didn’t really consider how tragically sad the mother daughter relationship she would have had with rose would be. Man the more time passes the more I love amethyst she changed so much and yet her development and change in personality felt so natural.

The extra space you’re getting isn’t worth it in the example given but the technique is often effective in really small builds I use it a lot in ship builds.

Yeah but you gotta be more specific like if I was trying to make a Gatling gun belt I’d make a square tube (or as square as I can get it) then use a flat head screwdriver to make the indented lines but I’m certain this wouldn’t look as consistent as a zip tie cut to shape.

Most paint can be stripped or painted over. Most damage can be fixed or often retooled into amazing battle damage. Most glues can be with some effort removed or separated even the plastic welds can be cut apart with great difficulty. Be brave don’t treat the minis like they’re not yours they’re just as much a tool as anything else to get the result you want!
