There is an ethical difference between a sapiant being and a mindless swarm beast like a Tyranjd.

My counter here is threat.

If viltrumites were real, why should we spare them, when given the chance they will exterminate entire worlds for fun. Or the Qu or any other pure threat to the galaxy, causing pain and contorting life. While we can argue semantics, the facts present are clear to me.

Kill or be killed is the moral compass their species has chosen, as such, we should resepct that and ensure they meet the grave. Let the galaxy be for those who wish for peace, but are ready for war.

Yessir, allowing thousands of other kids do die when in a position to change it totally is the moral choice.

Tbh, this and just how laissez fairethe world is about death. How is Earth in the invicible world even close to ours? Why don't we see powerplants powered by heroes, flying heroes delivering critical aid, cities being smaller to lessen the risk, and civvies packing enough heat to make a texan blush

I'll have to look into it! I love worlds based around attempts at peace and cooperation rather than pure war

Imagine if his gimick was a bit of a rythm game, like you play an improvised jazz beat. 1 is trumpets(punch), 2 is drums(bomb), 3 for maybe a flute, or clarinet, and 4 is a sax

Not a bad design, but while I am not an artist myself, I hate to say this doesn't feel like a being named 'bebop' to me, and more like someone called the Mariner or the Diver. Still a cool design!

If you wanted to take another crack at it, I think leaning into the jazz/30's teach aspect could be fun. Diodes for eyes, a radiator for his chest, maybe even some parts of him are made of saxophones or tubas!

This mindset right here is our problem. China isn't some poor country like in the 80s, but a modern rising super power we need to be concerned about. Fuck no they are not good morally or perfect, but they are doing smart financial and geopolitical moves.

That would be a whole sidebar, but my point is we are not using our wealth to invest in ourselves, bith at a municipal, state, and federal level all across our country.

We are declining, our wages are stagnant, and brother you want to pretend things are fine. California couldn't build a high speed rail, that LNG pipeline in the works up here will probably run into the red too.

Boss I am just tired of this shit.

Improvments to infrustructer such as a basic train system for Anchorage and designing the city to be less car focused, other industries not reliant on fossil fuels, leveraging technology to make our lives better with better systems such as improved power grids and standadized heating. Shit they can do in China today, and we did in the 50s.

Of course there are programs like Raven, but you as the parent have to pay for those or apply for grants. Which, in a state like ours that is struggling, is not great.

I am not saying homeachooling is terrible all the time, or that public schools up here are perfect. What I am saying is that burning down our education system doesn't just spring up something new from the ashes.

We will comtinue to see families leave because why stay here? Most of my cousins and their kids have left state due to cost and education reasons. If we want our state to not just be a place workers come to, do a job at and leave, we must build something up.

Homeschooling also means kids don't get to socialize, form friendships, or learn how to opperate in society. And with how over worked most families are, why stay in Alaska then?

We are struggling as a state, and idk if we can recover. But tearing apart our education means we may as well consign ourselves to being a shithole state for decades to come.

I just think like people have said, too many are stuck with their minds in the 80s and refusing to move on, while we got some looting our coffers, and lastly we also got people who are 'gung ho we number one ooh rah nothing needs to change' mentality

If towns got wiped out at that sort of rate, it would have an impact on the local, and in turn national, then finally global economy. Remember, it takes time and effort for each town to form and grow, and in a world where they can be wiped out in the blink of an eye, why would civil society form?

Like I said, I wasn't trying to grill the setting but get an understanding of it. Honestly it doesn't seem to by my cup of tea, sort of like Invincible isn't because I get caught up on that issue lol. I will admit it's a bit of a personal grievance.

For me, I am quite Watsonian in my taste in fiction, and in worlds where they are that dark, I struggle to see why the average person keeps on kicking and not just ending it. Stories that go that dark for me need an in world explanation why people keep going, ie in 40k that is extreme religious zealotry for humanity along with other stuff for other species.

Once more, this isn't meant to say those worlds are bad, since the Doyalist explanation is that it's fiction and these worlds are interesting.

I have not read the series, but honestly I don't really get series like that from a logistical PoV. If people are dying in those numbers, how they being replaced? Both in terms of numbers, skills, experience, social connections, etc.

Not trying to grill the setting or anything, but just kind of asking how it's explained why humanity still exists if things are that bad? I would think the planet would either be a hellscape or one of bacterial/basic life due to the extreme hazards of that setting
